non dairy whip icing?

i've seen this mentioned on a couple of planning bios...

is this the equivalent of that oil based icing that comes of grocery store slab cakes????

    I believe so. It's pretty much shortening, powdered sugar, and flavoring.

    We had whipped icing on our cake...and it was yummy. it wasn't all sweet and yucky like the grocery store kind. (I don't like most frosting on store bought cakes.)
    It was light and fluffy.
    i couldn't tell you the ingredients though...but i asked my cake company, LV Cake Designs, before making my decision.
