Venue Contract

Good Morning.  I am getting ready to secure my date with a venue. I received the contract on Saturday.  I feel as if the contract is not including as much information as I thought it would. It simply includes the site where the ceremony will be held, the site where the reception will be held and the room minimum.

Did your contract include more? Should I ask for additions to be added? We are not doing an inclusive package but there are things that are included when booking a wedding.

Any help would be appreciated!

P.S.

We are booking the Platinum.

Are there any things that you have discussed that aren't included?  Did you have additions that you talked to them about?

Our's had the date, time, place, garden name, package, who our coordinator was for the ceremony.  The reception one had pretty much the same except add the food we ordered, bar total and who our contact was the day of the reception.

I like to have everything in writing; if there are any points you would not accept being less than what you expected, something other than what you wanted, etc., put it in the contract.

Our contract defined the date, time we'd have access to the facility for vendors to set up, start and end for open bar, what the meals were, what the venue was responsible for and what they held us responsible for (which we then handed off to our day of coordinators), etc.  Better safe than end up with a "we assumed you'd do that" issue the day of.

My contract for the Platinum had:
    Date 10/14
    Time 5:30-11p
    Room: Kil@Wat & Pool Deck
    F&B Min: $$$
    Approx Guest count

Your menu and guest count don't need to be gauranteed until 10 days beforehand. Which worked out great for us b/c our guest count went from 98 to 109 to our final count of 77. We also changed our menu, adding on a few things in the weeks leading up to the wedding. I kept all emails between myself and Nicole & Marie in a folder in my email. But I never had a problem with them trying to change anything we agreed on or change any package that I had.
You can always ask them to add anything in that you feel is important.

    Thanks guys!

Lil' Miss - Thanks for the reference to your experience with The Platinum!  I am worried that there will be a lot of hidden costs (standard linens, bartender fees, etc)
