What's your price range and how many people do you plan on attending?

At this point I'm open to about any price range and we have about 250 to 285 invited.

    Hi!
I am also looking for venues in Hickory and surrounding areas since I am from Morganton and he is from Catawba.
There are quite a few places. Ones he has driven by and given me the name of mostly...Hickory needs better sites it seems.
But one that I am really fond of is the Peacock Inn in Newton, NC.
They do indoor and ourdoor ceremonies. They also have a bar and a good size reception area. They even do their own catering. There is a petting zoo for the kiddies too.
    Check it out!

You could check out Mosteller Mansion located near Carmike Theaters on Catawba Valley Blvd. There's also Shuford House and Gardens located in NW Hickory. You can also look into Lake Hickory Country Club (There's a possibility you would need a member sponsorship). If I can think of anything, I'll let you know.

I knew being from Hickory would be beneficial to me at some point of my life.

ETA: There's also Rock Barn CC in Conover.

Agree with Rock Barn. I wish I could think of the name of this place in Gastonia, it is some kind of botanical gardens.
There are serveral b&bs in hickory, Inn at Hickory, Thistle Inn, The Peacock Inn and there are a few others. There are a few options near by, such as Boone - Chetola Resort, and my venue The Inn at Crestwood. There is also the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
I would also contact LR I think they have a chapel (it may not be big enough) and I think they also have gardens. - dont quote me on this though lol

We had our ceremony at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hickory.  It is a huge church and was very pretty.

Our reception was at the Crowne Plaza Hotel ballroom.  I'm not sure how many people it holds but if you use all 3 sections it's pretty big.  And if you spend at least a certain amount (on catering, drinks, etc) there is no charge for renting the ballroom.  The staff was very friendly and the food (from their on-site caterer) was delicious!  Another bonus, you get a night in their nicest suite for free!

I found the Peacock Inn in Newton. I have no idea on prices or anything but the pictures look nice for an outdoor wedding. I was planning on going to check it out in a couple weeks.
