Flamingo resort/casino

anyone have any experience with the Flamingo hotel?  not for weddings/receptions so much as a place to rest your head, maybe gamble a little, proximity to the other fun things to do on the strip.  I'm also curious about their pool since my FI and I will be bringing our two daughters who by that time will be 13 and 8.  Thanks in advance for any info you can send my way  :)

    Hey! I have stayed at the Flamingo on both my trips to Vegas... and have now booked my wedding there... and I will be telling all my "new to Vegas" friends to stay there! I love it. Its right in the heart of the strip.. close to everything and its not a MASSIVE property like the Bellagio and Ceasars where Ive heard you can have to walk for 10mins to get to the elavators from reception. Both times I have stayed in the renovated GO rooms (we even got upgraded to a fountain view on our second trip) and again cant fault them. Unfortunatley, it was too cold for the pool on our visits, so I can't advise on the pool with kids. The casino also isnt massive, but if you are not a huge gambler, this wont be an issue, and there are plenty of options not far away. As you can tell.. its a favourite of mine (not that Ive tried anything else... "if it aint broke, why fix it"?)
    Oh, and rooms are super cheap compared to the bigger fancier hotels.

    I'm a fan of the Flamingo.  Center strip, reasonably cheap but still good quality, no bs resort fee, the pool there is semi-party atmosphere but still safe for kids, has Carlos & Charlies as well as Margaritaville which are both fun venues.

    Hey there, FI and I will be getting married at the Flamingo as well and I have stayed there twice before!  Awesome location!  Pool is great, big enough, and the kids will like forsure, especially with the tropical feel....we love the go rooms and the views....you really cant beat the location too....the restaurants are all great, margaritaville is one of our faves ;)

    We love the flamingo-- cheap and great location, rooms are decent as well.
