wedding songs

So I am absolutely clueless about music for the ceremony. Can someone explain to me how your supposed to pick songs?? I'm assuming one for bridal party to walk down....one for bride me!! to walk down the aisle, and then one once we are married. I do NOT want traditional music.....any suggestions? I was thinking marry me by train when I walk down and I do by young jeezy once we are a married couple Woohoo

Re: wedding songs

  • Someone on here used Highway to Hell as their exit song. Smile  Can't remember who it was, but I remember their ceremony because we used the same officiant and I had been watching it.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • How about some YoYoMa? "Prelude" it's a beautiful song!!!

  •  I love Marry Me. Have you heard Bruno Mars' Rest of My Life? Also amazingly sweet.
I am not fond of the traditional music myelf, but in our package, apparently traditional music is provided, so I need to call and find out if i CAN bring my own. I don't even know if they're eqipped to handle anything else. Buuuut if I can, I want to walk to Fools Rush In, either Elvis' original, or even Jon Schmidt's piano version which is amaaazing.
  • Yeah we've been told we need 3, one for bridal party, then me, then exit. We thinking beatles all you need is love, adeles make you feel my love then black eyed peas I gotta feeling : x
  • We are picking three, like you mentioned in your post.  We're able to bring a CD, so we are going with Vitamin String Quartet covers of some of our favorite songs.  It's a nice mix of my classical music background and our mutual love of popular music.
  • we got 4 songs

I walk down- moonriver from breakfast at tiffany's
ring exchange- i don't remember, guess it'll be a surprise!

BP entrance was their version of the Beatles' All You Need is Love
My entrance was their version of U2's All I Want is You

We are doing 5 songs - we have a Beatles theme for the ceremony (minus the recessional) and are doing instrumental versions of their songs.

Guest Seating - All You Need is Love
Bridal Party Processional  - In My Life
Bridal Processional - Here, There & Everywhere
Wine Unity Ceremony - Across the Universe
Recessional - You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oats (Totally out of left field, which is what I wanted. Plus the song makes me SO happy

  • You make me feel is my existing too !!
  • Lol darn iPhone! Existing exit recessional :. Funny!
  • Not sure if it's the real title of it, or not, but 'the Feather Theme' from Forrest Gump was our processional (my BM was just standing and waiting for us, she didn't make an entrance), and for our recessional we used the Linus and Lucy song from the Peanuts... it made our guests chuckle, it's a cute song.

We had the option of a 3rd song had we had our candle ceremony, but we declined all of that ... so only the 2 songs were needed.

*This was at Chapel of the Flowers.
