In-Suite Reception Help Please :(

Hi Girls! The time is getting closer and I'm freaking out !

Catering:My wedding is in November and I still haven't booked the caterer.. Masterpiece is not able to cater my wedding since it is the day after 11/11/11. Does anyone know of any good cheap caterers? Either buffet or heavy apps?

Music: I am still floating between having DJ Godzilla or just the IPOD?

Decoration: My wedding is in the Vista Suite at the MB. Yes, I am super nervous after hearing all of these compliants! What are some suggestions to decorate? I was going to do an aisle runner with purple roses 4 vases with flowers and some candles around the room as well as loose rose petals and some personalized napkins. Do I need anything else?

If there is anything else I am missing please help?

Hello!  I'm not doing an in-suite, but I'll try to help based on what I've heard.

I believe you can get catering from the following:

Jason's Deli
Fazoli's
Famous Dave's BBQ
Maggiano's (take-out?)

I get the DJ v. iPod dilemma (I'm having the same one).  Pro of iPod: you pick ALL your own music and save money.  Pro of DJ: less to worry about, they can "read the crowd" and change music accordingly, little risk of having technical difficulties.  I would say pick what pro is most important to you (not worrying, saving money, etc) and go from there.  There are a few very well reviewed DJs here.

Have you thought about doing a cake table/guest book, etc?  You can put some fun decorations on there - vase of flowers, pics of you guys, etc.  I just made a photobook on shutterfly last night of our e-pics that I'm planning to bring along for our guests to peruse during the reception

Thank you so much for the catering ideas I will have to look into those places!! And as for the music Im leaning towards IPOD ;/  only 40 people coming so not a big crowd.. Yes cake table and guest book great idea about shutterfly our e-pics are getting taking this sunday so i'll wait until we have those!

I'd go for the IPOD just because of the issues we have (I'm sure you read my post!).

As far as decoration goes, I think what you have sounds great. The view itself is decoration enough - the suite really doesn't need a lot. All we did was scatter rose petals on the bar/all the tables, and light tealights everywhere.

I agree with everything pp said.  I will also plug Maggiano's delivery.  The food was hot and on time.  ordering was very easy. 

I loved DJ Godzilla!  He totally set the tone for the party.

Decor- We used a bunch of tealights.  The room really doesn't need much.

Vfriday & Kris I have been reading all of your post because I do know you both had your receptions there you are GREATT help and I appreciate it and kris I am sooooo super sorry to what happened to you. That is the only reason why I really want to stick with the IPOD. Thanks girls no more decor then saves me $$ lol

if you go to weddingwire.com they have a review of caterers in Vegas. i think there is one that is similarly priced as Masterpiece Cuisine and got good reviews.
