Drinks Reception / Post-Ceremony Drinks

Hey ladies and VG,

My current vague plans for my wedding day include a 4pm ceremony at Little Church of the West, a 6pm dinner at the Wynn buffet in semi-private room, and drinks & dancing in a suite after this. I want to splice in some daylight strip photos before the dinner and some night photos before the in-suite party too, but am thinking 2 hours between the ceremony and dinner would give us time to do photos and have a drinks reception somewhere? I'm thinking straight after the ceremony would be best and then we can leave guests to do their own thing (take a nap, freshen up) before dinner whilst we go and take photos.

So my question is, does anyone have recommendations for places down the South end of the strip (i.e. near Little Church of the West) where we could:
a) book a space/table as a more formal drinks reception
b) turn up with a group of 20 at around 4.30pm and get drinks without a booking and get a decent space to sit

Hi,

I have booked some tables/an area at the Level 107 Lounge at the Stratosphere for some after reception cocktails. I really struggled to find somewhere without bottle service/a huge minimum spend. Level 107 looks like it has great views, live music and the spend per person is $25 which I can live with.

If you wanted to stay on the southside of the strip, I personally would go to the West Wing Bar at MGM. They have happy hour daily from 5-8 and are never busy, so you could probably still get a couch to hang out on. http://www.mgmgrand.com/nightlife/west-wing-bar.aspx

20 people with no reservation and good drinks sounds like three places on the south end of the strip:

1) Hussong's Cantina in Mandalay Mall
2) Ri Ra Irish Pub in Mandalay Mall
3) Diablo's Cantina in front of Monte Carlo

Thanks everyone for the helpful info, I really like the look of West Wing Bar, Diablo's and Hussongs, will have to do some comparisons.

I've just realised that I need to check whether under 21's will be able to come into wherever we choose to go as there'll be 3 with us, so much to think about!!
