My FMIL and FFIL flew me up to Michigan with them for the weekend. It was to celebrate FI's grandmom great who turned 97 (and still looks amazing!). And also so that his family could throw me a bridal shower. There were a few things that made this significant. First, this is the only shower I'm having. I didn't even think I would have one b/c of stuff going on with my family. Second, because they live in Michigan, I had not met all the Rode family yet. I was nervous, but excited.
The weekend was perfect. I was a little overwhelmed at first, but my FSIL was there (I love her to death!) and she made me feel much more comfortable. We had the bridal shower. Then all the guys came back to the house and we had a huge cookout for grandmom great. It was a wonderful night, minus the fact that FI couldn't make it up. It made me so excited for our wedding! They are going to be such a fun group to celebrate with.
