reception venues? - suggestions please

we were originally planning to host a dinner at the China Grill in Mandalay bay but due to our new date (finally set a date! yay!) the China Grill is not available.

We want something with a private room to seat approx. 30 and that will have a pastry chef on site to take care of the cake.

The goal is to keep it very simple and easy but we have no limitation in terms of budget and we'd like somewhere that has great, interesting food.

All suggestions welcome!! and thank you in advance...

We're doing a reception in a ballroom at Mandalay Bay and going through their Catering department-- the cake is handled by the onsite pastry team and included in the price, perhaps try that?

we are also hosting a fairly small wedding and reception. our wedding is through chapel of the flowers. they recommended a place called the pampas. its in the miracle mile shops and for a lunch reception, its looking like $21 a head. its a brazilian grill and its buffet style with a twist. the rhodizio lunch is about 7 different types of meats and some grilled pineapple on skewers that servers bring around and slice of pieces for you to eat...until you explode.

we tried their dinner version (about 12 kinds of meat) and it was AMAZING. i would suggest this place in a heartbeat

my dad would be in heaven at a brazilian grill though.  :)

<div>i'm trying to minimize the amount of work involved in this wedding so if i can get everything done in one place, i'd be thrilled!</div>

Are you looking for a specific decor?  i.e. very contemporary like China Grill, or it doesn't matter that much?  MB has several restaurants that should be easy substitutes for China Grill.  If you don't mind more casual, there's three options in the shops of Mandalay (aka the mall that connects MB to Luxor) as well that should be very competitively priced.  We had our rehearsal dinner at Hussong's Cantina there and it was a blast; and relatively cheap compared to other options.

This reason (the mix of vegans, vegetarians and carnivores) was the reason we went with a buffet. I was giving myself headaches trying to plan menus that would suit everyone and it started getting expensive (to add dishes). We are using Studio B at the M Resort and getting a cake through them.
I spoke to a few of the buffets and most were willing o work with you on a cake option.

Thanks guys... I really liked the idea of family style eating at China Grill so I think we're going to go with Nobu. We love Japanese food and I like the ambience there. Plus they're willing to do as much personalization or as little as we want which is nice. I was up way too late last night going through all the possible venues and I really appreciate everyone's suggestions.

Mon Ami Gabi has a couple of private rooms and their set menus are really reasonable. They don't just do red meat either.
