Centerpieces

Hello! I am finally in the final stages of booking my venue and brainstorming some of the other details.

What were your centerpieces? Price? Were flowers one of your budget heavy items?

I used platters, vases, pebbles, floating candles and fake flowers.

I made all of the flower stuff that we had, it was a cost cutting thing for us and since the flowers were going to die before we got back no need to spend a ton of money on them.

With 40% off coupons at Michaels and Hobby Lobby, to do 6 centerpieces (3 different sized vases, pebbles, candles, flowers) came to $5-$10 each.

I'm using Pam at The Palette (www.the-palette.com) A lot of people on here have used her and have great things to say about her. She has been awesome to work with so far. I will be having two different centerpieces, one smaller and one tall alternating between my tables. The smaller ones will be white gerber daisies, white hydrangeas, yellow roses and pink mini calla lilies, those are $65 each I think. Then the taller one will be like Wallacje but just filled with all yellow rose petals, those are $45 I think. I'm getting married at Mandalay Bay and they quote me double what Pam did.  Hope this helps you.

I am getting married in January so I am not doing any flowers (it is the desert, afterall). I am using ostrich feathers and some gold glitter stem-things I found at Hobby Lobby in their xmas decor section. I am also using glass vases. I glued rhinestones to the top rim of the vase and I will put a single golf, floating candle in the vase.

I spent about $800 making/buying decorations for the reception. So I"m not sure my DIY approach actually saved us any money compared to floral centerpieces.

Most of our centerpieces looked like this:

    A few like this:

    And highboys like this:

We had Pam do very simple half dozen red rose square vase centerpieces on each of our tables for the reception; not too tall so people couldn't see each other across the table.  Worked out great for us, good pricing too; a lot cheaper than the resort florist would have charged.

We are having Pam do silver urns with mixed dark purple flowers, on the short side for the same reason vegasgroom said- we wanted people to be able to see each other across the table. She's been super easy to work with and her prices were great. Again, cheaper than the florist at the hotel by far.

I am thinking about having something similar to VG. I am just hoping the places arent too inflated for Roses in February.

I adore the bubble ball centerpieces! I will be traveling from Chicago and just not too sure how to transport them.

I was fortunate that my mom lives in Phoenix...so I ordered stuff online, shipped to her, and she transported everything to Vegas.

Probably, if I didn't have this option, I would have just gone with a florist and had small centerpieces. But if you're still interested in making your own, I've heard that brides have shipped stuff to UPS in Vegas and then just pick up the packages when they're in town. You can ship stuff to the Platinum too...not sure they'd be happy with the huge boxes the bubble balls come in though. LOL. Here's where I ordered mine from:
