Hair Question

I would ideally like to wear my hair down probably with just my sides pulled back and loose curls, Harmony is coming to do hair and make-up in the morning then we're doing our strip tour before the ceremony (which is at 3:00) so do you think if I wore my hair down it would last all day or does it start to fall flat pretty quickly? I know up-dos can last all day and in to the next but I'm not sure if wearing it down will have the same longevity. Should I look for an up-do I like instead?

Great questions hstaples!  I have the same question... I have thought about having it down for the ceremony (with the veil) and then putting it up for the reception (with a flower).  Have you thought about doing that?

I think it depends on your hair. I know mine wont last that long but it wouldn't last in an updo either for more than a 5-6hrs. If your hair has some natural curl or is known to hold curl then you should be fine for 5-8 hours. Not sure if conditions make a difference (heat, humidity, wind, unwashed hair)!

    Have you asked Harmony?

If you tell her your hair type and what style you want she might be able to tell you how it will hold up in the LV climate.

Honestly, if the stylist is good at what they do, the hair will stay up all day! My hair tends to not hold curls for very long but it held up until the next day! I had my hair half up and half down with curls. You can look at the siggy if you'd like. Also, wash your hair the night before and put serum on it(this is what Francesca told me to do) it makes the hair hold the curls up much better.

My hair does not hold a curl for me....when I do it....but when a stylist curls it, it always stays. I had my hair up in curls, with a few curls hanging in back and everything stayed put all night, even through some pretty crazy wind. Whatever you choose, your stylist will make it happen!

Thanks for the info ladies! My hair does have a bit of a natural wave to it and can hold a curl ok so I'm hopeing it'll last all day but I'll e-mail Harmony and see what she recommends. Now that I have my dress bought it's these little details I'm trying to get figured out now.

I used Harmony and had my hair half up/half down and it held up just fine... well into the night.  My wedding was at 3... she completed my hair around noon I think it was.  She knows her hair and will tell you what to do with it pre-wedding... for instance she told me and all my BMs NOT to put any product in your hair... she likes clean hair.  Obviously she knew what she was talking about because everyone's hair held up nicely!
