I'm married! Reviews

Hi

I've only posted a few times but trying to plan a Las Vegas wedding from the UK would have been so much more difficult without this forum so I thought I would write my own reviews from the perspective of a Britsh bride.

I wanted a no fuss, small outdoor wedding that was casual and fun. I'd never dreamed of the big white wedding so Vegas was our perfect choice (plus it was our first holiday destination together)

Accommodation

Flamingo:  A
We arrived on the Sunday and stayed here until the Wednesday (it is way cheaper than Caesars). We stayed in a Go Deluxe which was amazing. We had mentioned when we booked the room we were getting married so at check-in the woman asked if we were on our honeymoon. We told her we were getting married and she changed our room to a strip view and we could watch the Bellagio Fountains. Location is spot on. Pool is great (a little crowded). I used the gym a few times (extra cost but not too much) and it joins with Margarittaville (bonus).

Caesars Palace Hotel: A-
A gorgeous room in the palace tower overlooking the pool area. Gorgeous spa bath and massive bathroom. My one bad point is nothing is free. $12 for coffee in your room. $20 per night for a fridge in your room. They do try and take as much money from you as you can get.

Dress and Suit steamer

JL Bridal: B
The dress was steamed to perfection. So was the suit. They delivered promptly. However, they took the dress and I had to phone to get a quote. They then told me they couldn't deliver it back in the carrier  had sent it across in and my only choice was to pay $35 for a new carrier. I had no choice but was furious. It cost nearly $200 in the end which was mostly on delivery costs and that damn bag. Make sure you get all the details first before you hand over the dress.

Hen do

Serendipity A+
We ended up here a lot because it's right inbetween Flamingos and Caesars. Great food. The service we had on hen-do night was exceptional. We were running late for our show and he got the food through really quickly.

Absinthe A++
Don't be put of by Angel Porrino - she's hardly in it. It was amazing. The acts were spectacular. It is one of the funniest and obscene things ever. The language is full on. I don't care but when you are sat next to your mum and your mother in law it can get rather uncomfortable.

Beauty

XNails A+++
I just googled this place. $38 for mani/pedi. They are 2 miles off-strip and it is worth the cab ride. We spent a good two hours there being pampered and having flowers painted on our toes (they don't do this in England) and it waslovely.

GlamSquad, Nisha: A+++
I'd asked for James but Nisha and Elisa turned up but that didn't matter. Boy, are they organised. Nisha knew exactly what she was doing and the result was fantastic. They may be a little more pricey but I think it was worth it.

Venue

Juno Garden, Caesars Palace: A++++++
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. I had been worried that it was going to be too big and our 12 guest would get lost in it but they try and shoot it so it looks bigger than it is. If you want an intimate ceremony in beautiful outdoor surroundings, this is the place. It was very surreal to walk past the pool with my dad and in my dress. We had to avoid a couple of "wet kids" but that just added to the fun. Beware though it can get windy. The wind really picked up (we got married at 7pm). It wasn't as bad as the youtube video you may have seen but my fringe is blowing back on all the photos. We went for the simple Bella Luna package with no extras. The bouquet they provided with 3 white roses was gorgeous but I had made my own brooch bouquet so didn't use it.

Wedding Coordinator: Ashley A
I know some people said she had been abrupt but I found her efficient and organised. I guess being British, I'm used to a lower level of customer service so don't mind one line email replies. She knows what she is oing and that is the most important thing to me.

Photographer

We just used Caesars Palace's own fo 20 mins. My best friends are photographers and they took our pictures so I give them an A+++++. Casears were okay. He knew what he was doing but they were a bit cheesy for my liking. We get 10 6x4 free with our package and that is enough really.

Our friends took pictures at the las vegas sign and we opened the champagne and had drinks there too before we went to the restaurnt.

Transport

Bells Transport A
We opted for a 24 seater minibus. They charged us for an hour and a half rather than the two hour minimum. They were on time and th driver was great. I was a little disappointed that the bus had a huge Lion King advert on  it as it blocked the windows so our views of the strip were obscured. Booking it by phone was exhausting. The woman I spoke to could not understand my English accent and it took ages to sort out but we got there in the end.

Reception

Firefly on Paradise: A++++++
Thankyou to all who recommended this off-strip place. It was amazing. We had a corner of the second room altogether. The food ($35 set menu) kept coming and was delicious and it was just so relaxed and informal. The atmosphere was brilliant and I wish I could eat there every week.

Shadow Bar, Caesars Palace: A
I never imagined I would see naked ladies on my wedding day but we ended up at the Shadow bar. We had made no plans but I had wanted to go to Cleopatra's Barge. We arived and it was way too noisey fo our parents and Neptunes is just a tad quiet so we went to Shadow instead. It wasn't busy so we all sat together, had a drink and a chat and watched the dancers. My brother is a particular fan!

When the parents left we went to Cleopatra's barge for  quick dance but the DJ packed up at 2 and it closed at 3 which was a shame (but good the next morning)

Wow, this is long! I could talk about the other places we ate but I think there is enough there. For me it was the pefect day. I couldn't have asked fo any more. Just shout if you want to know anything else.
