Hi everyone! I finally got a second to sit down a write down my reviews from my May 19th wedding. Here you go!
Paris Las Vegas – Wedding Chapels A++++
We got married in the larger chapel, “Chapelle du Paradis.” It was absolutely gorgeous, and our wedding coordinator, Elisabeth Schuster, was wonderful. We had a package that included flowers, a DVD and photography. The flowers were gorgeous! You get to pick what you want, but don’t get to see them until the day of, so I was nervous going into it, but the bouquets were beautiful. I had red gerber daisies for my bouquet, and I was so sad that I couldn’t keep it forever! Since they have a wedding every hour, the coordinator kept everything moving smoothly, but I never felt like I was just a number, and never felt rushed through my ceremony or photos. My absolute favorite thing about the whole wedding experience, though, was the minister assigned by the chapel. His name was Keith Nelson, and he was wonderful. He was warm, friendly, and respected our wishes for no religious stuff. His speaking voice was beautiful and he made us feel like we were the most important people in the world that day. I was so thrilled to have him, and if you get married there, ask if you can request him. I know I would have been happy wherever we ended up having the ceremony, but I can’t say enough about the Paris.
Las Vegas Photo & Video – photography A-/B+
I’m happy that Paris doesn’t use Cashman like the other Caesars properties. That being said, I didn’t think there was anything special about our photographer, either. The pre-wedding, ceremony and post-ceremony chapel photos are beautiful, but I don’t love the “studio” photographs they took right after that. We paid extra for a half-hour around the Paris resort, and most of those photos are lovely, but our photographer kept trying to get us in these ridiculous poses, and then would get irritated if we were laughing or seemed to be enjoying ourselves. That kind of pissed me off! Wouldn’t it be better to have photos of us laughing and enjoying ourselves than some lame ass pic of us touching noses like idiots? The other thing that bothered me was that he took us out into the valet area to get photos of us with the Arc d’Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower in the background, which I appreciate, but he had me stand in the middle of an area with some car oil slicks, and when I expressed my concerned about not wanting to get oil on my WHITE DRESS, he rolled his eyes and told me it was water. It was most definitely not water. I can’t really blame him for taking us there to get those shots, but Paris really should have some designated locations for their photographers to get some photos that don’t involve standing in the middle of a parking circle. As for the next day when we went back to view our photos, I couldn’t have felt more like a number if they’d actually pinned one to me. They have this whole back area that is just one sales room after another, kind of like at a car dealership. Then they tried to sell us on their CD package that includes all of the pics on a CD plus all of the 4x6 prints, which at $800 isn’t completely insane, but was a little more than we wanted to spend that day. So if you don’t take the CD, then any extra prints you want are astronomically priced at $8.50/print! That was shocking to me, and I was expecting to get gouged. But I can get prints for less than ten cents each on Snapfish, so I guess I was expecting the markup to be somewhere in the $5 range. Seriously, $8.50/ea? So we ended up getting a few extras, and then paying the $25 to host the photos online so that our families could buy more if they wanted. Here’s a little info, though: they don’t watermark their online photos. Take away from that what you will.
Le Village Buffet – reception
We held our reception in the Alsace Room at the LVB. The staff couldn’t have been friendly or more attentive. Our guests got to enter through the VIP entrance to the buffet, and the staff was nice and didn’t require someone to come get latecomers, they just let them on through. I swear, our wait staff made sure I had a glass of wine in my hands at all times! If they ever saw me talking to someone and I was drinkless, a second later voila there was a glass! Everyone loved the food and seemed to be having a great time, and it was nice to have our own private area away from the regular guests. We also ordered our cake through LVB because it was significantly cheaper than ordering from an outside vendor, and surprisingly, the cake was delicious. We mainly got it just for cutting and photos, since we figured most guests would enjoy the dessert table at the buffet, but the cake ended up being a highlight. It was moist and the cream frosting wasn’t too sweet, which is my usual complaint. If you’re having your event here, don’t hesitate on ordering their cake. You won’t be disappointed.
