veil

So I bought a fingertip 1 tier veil, but now am having second thoughts on wearing it. I will have my hair up with a red rose it in. Are any of you guys wearing veils? What are your thoughts on them? Thanks

I wore a veil--and I loved it; I thought it pulled the whole "bride" look together...and it went really well with my dress.

I'm anxiously awaiting replies to this one, I'm in the same position! I bought a veil after my dress too and I really didn't think I was a veil bride, but it just made me feel so much more bride-y and I instantly fell in love. I am also planning on doing a rose in my hair.

Are you thinking full-up, or half up? I've seen some really nice half-up styles with the rose as the secure point and the veil clipped in underneath. Or lower side-ponys/loose buns with the rose in the middle and veil clipped at the base of your head (if these make sense, I'll see if I can find some pictures)

2 IVFs & 1 FET. Welcome home baby girl!

    Thank you!!

Are you considering forgoing the veil and wearing just the rose, or perhaps wearing a birdcage veil?

I am wearing my sister's veil as my something borrowed.  It is a single layer fingertip length.  I am going to take it off after the ceremony and swap it for a white feather fascinator.

I say go for it for at least your ceremony.  I think I will finally feel like a bride with the veil on.

I got a similar finger tip single layer veil...I am a super simple girl so I thought this would be great as a veil that isnt TOO much.

I bought a fingertip double layer veil, even though I wasn't sure I was going to splurge on one.  My dress is fairly simple, without a lot of beading, so it gives a bit of sparkle to the whole look.  Plus, I figure that it is the one day I will be able to wear one, so why not?  I plan on taking it off for the reception.

I don't know if I should wear it for my photo shoot before the ceremony... that is still up in the air.  Hmmm....

I guess I'm in the minority ... I did not wear a veil and still felt special. I think a veil would have given me a different feel, one I didn't like ;-) When trying on dresses, they put a veil on me and I got the willies!

With that being said....go with what makes YOU comfortable!

Up until a month before my wedding I was so not into a veil.  But that changed when Debi at Fit for a Bride showed me a blusher that she thought would go well with my dress.  I ended up loving it --

At this point I am going with a white feather fascinator.  I haven't seen it with the dress yet though so that may change.

I am going to wear an elbow length veil.   I like the veil thing for me...but I have seen many brides without one, and they still look beautiful!

I too am in the minority.  I'm wearing a white feather hair fastener with some sparkle in it (yet to be purchased).  I tried on a bird cage veil and it just wasn't for me.  Agree with PP that you should wear what you like best, veil or not! :)

I wasn't planning on wearing a veil either, but then I started seeing pics on here of brides with chapel length veils, blowing in the wind and I thought they looked sooo pretty!

But when I tried one on with my dress, it just didn't go, so I went with a fingertip veil. I feel more "bride-like" with one on, but yeah, it's up to you!

I don't really like veils. I thought maybe I would do birdcage but i tmake my head look like a giant sqaure...it was actually very funny. I think I am going without the veil.

I purchased some chiffon flowers to add as an accent to my dress.  I'll also be putting two of them in my hair.  Maybe a small birdcage, but I'm thinking I'll skip the veil.

I have a 2 tierd fingerlength veil I ordered from eBay for like $20. I've always pictured myself w/  a veil and am pretty girly in real life + when in the world can I wear one again? (except maybe tomorrow night at my bachelorette party :) )

I had my mind set on not wearing one either .  Until i had my dress fitting a few weeks ago. It looked like something was missing , so the lady who was doing my alterations suggested i should wear a veil. I  huffed and puffed saying no way , but once she put it on me , and it wasn't hanging all in my face , i knew i had to wear one.

so i bought a double layer finger tip veil at the hobby  store  for like 10 bucks !! and one of my bridesmaids has added some beading along the edges to match my dress.  I love it !!   I'm so glad  i changed my mind. :)

I am!! Chapel length.  It is what I always have wanted, so I couldn't pass it up just because I am getting married in Vegas.  It is worth it to me to deal with it being cumbersome.  BTW I am also wearing a rose in my hair (half up).

I'm completely an old school fuddy duddy.  Ironically enough I'm not super girly in everyday life, but I knew from the start that I was not only going with a veil, but a blusher as well.  I can appreciate how beautiful a lot of the other brides have been with fascinators and headbands (and even hats!), but for me nothing said bride more than a fingertip, double-layer veil.  Good luck with whatever you decide!
