Oddly wedding related

I was wondering, when you picked your date, did you consider that time of the month?

I just realized that if I stay on course I am gonna be all bloaty and periody on my wedding day.

And yes periody is a word

Um, I should keep track better bc I don't know if it will be or not.  Here is a little plus, if you are on the pill, skip the placebo pills (the ones you take the week of your period) and just start a brand new pack that week instead.  I'm  pretty sure you can do the same thing with Nuva Ring too.  Instead of leaving it out for a week, put a new one in as soon as you take the old one out.  Wah la, no period!  Obviously though, when messing with your birth control you should check with your doctor first!

I DID plan for that because I ended up on my period during my sister's wedding in Mexico last year. My one vacation a year and I was bloaty and irritable. It used BC pills to skip, but it still sucked, so this time I planned better.

It makes it easier that I use an iPhone program that uses current data to predict period days months out.  I frickin' love that program now.  Who knew it would ever be so useful? :)

I was worried about it because I can't do hormonal birth control due to some neurological issues.  Honestly, mine is so unpredictable that there was no way I could have known a year out what part of April it would choose to arrive.  Thankfully it chose last week, so I should be in the clear.  Hopefully...

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

LOL! I was just talking to my FI about this yesterday. The last day of our HM is usually the first day...so Im hoping this will stay about the same. Although mine is somewhat unpredictable as well. I just REALLY hope I don't get stuck on my period in Hawaii. Im seriously considering taking the BC just for the next couple of months, but i have an IUD. Does anyone know if that would be bad? Or how long it takes for the BC's to not let you get a period?

I thankfully will be on my period the week before I go. THANK GOODNESS

Pink, ditto on the IUD.  If you have the IUD that has hormones in it I don't think you can, but if you have the one with copper and no hormones I think it's possible to take the pill too.  Idk though?  We are going to try for another baby as soon as we are married (like on the honeymoon lol) so I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.  I def need to talk to my doc!  Anyway, I'm sure they get this question a lot and have at least a few options.

While I did not pick the date based on that time of the month, I realized quickly that it would be EXACTLY that time of the month. I am on birth control so I took 2 packs back-to-back (skipped placebos)  as soon as I realized it, to essentially move my period up one week.

I wear the Ortho Evra patch. If it looks like my period will be here during my wedding week I will skip my one week off and move my next period back a week.

Yeah, I take a pill also and can basically manipulate it however I want if necessary. It can be done with Seasonique also, just like the monthly BC, I just wouldn't suggest taking 6 months in a row but a few weeks or a month worth of pills from the next pack should be ok.
