Room Blocks?

Will a block at 1 hotel be ok or should we do 2 hotels to give our guests variety?

Re: Room Blocks?

  • Here's some info:

We blocked rooms at MB, TheHotel and Luxor to give guests the three closest options guaranteed until 30 days out for the lazy ones who waited until the last minute to book.  Most booked earlier and used coupon codes instead of the blocks to save a lot more money, but it didn't cost us anything to have the three blocks so we just did it.

  • We have 2 room blocks, one at Planet Hollywood reception venue and one at Flamingo. I wanted to give guests options.

I'm waiting for an email about these. Were the rates good? We went ahead and blocked some rooms at Orleans, (we're staying here the first few nights). The rates were great but we want our guest to have something on the strip if they choose.
  • I didn't even think about booking room block at more then 1 hotel. I got a room block at the Wynn (where ceremony will be), but it is still kind of expensive. Should I book other hotels as well? How does it work? Do I just call them and ask to have room blocks?

  • do you get charged for rooms if you request blocked rooms but not all or even NONE are booked by the guests??  that's my concern.

  • Depends on the days you will be there...Flamingo had 50 per night during the week to 150 weekend...Planet Hollywood was more. Yes, you just call or email them and tell them your dates. I have 25 room blocked off at both locations with 30 room on peak nights before and after ceremony.

No charge if you booked through Total Rewards or Total Experience they are the same company I belief.
  • If you book through total experienes, there is no charge as long as you book 5 rooms. You are not responsible for the rooms if they don't get booked, as long as you book 5.

  • This is the email I received from Sheri "Hello Linda, if no one books under the group code, you will not be responsible for any of those rooms.  They just go back to the hotel at the 30 day cut-off date.  Yes, you are correct, we then do not offer our complimentary services if you do not have any rooms booked, (however, if you have any questions, I would still be happy to try to help). :)

So if the 5 rooms aren't booked you will not be able to utilize their services.

    Hope this helps.
  • Thanks germanlinda...got my email today for Flamingo and PH.
