Room Comp!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to remind everyone to use their player's cards when booking hotels. I decided last year that I wanted to have a wedding in Vegas, but I had never been. Fiance and I booked a trip last fall and stayed at the Flamingo. We ended up deciding to have our wedding there as well. Anyway, I've been looking at booking our room because our wedding is coming up in October. I randomly found my Total Rewards card at my parents house this weekend. I did not gamble all that much last fall, but I did use it when I sat down at the slot machines. So I registered my total rewards card and logged in to see what the price would be. OMG 5 of our 7 nights are comp'd and the other 2 night are discounted a lot! So make sure you check the rooms w/ your players card.. I just saved a lot of $$$.

Also, southwest is running a fair sale right now. From my home air port to LV the price is half of what it has been listed so we booked that as well!!

Oh, AND I tried my dress on for the first time since I took it home from the store and it does not need any alterations at all! Fit and length are perfect, just need a bustle!! It seems like my Vegas wedding is meant to be! Things are falling into place!

Re: Room Comp!

  • Awesome. I'm so happy for you those are great checks and budget stress reducers. I have only been to Vegas once several years ago so unfortunately I don't have a rewards card : but maybe I'll get one this trip.
  • Oh wow...that's great! Good thing SW is running a deal, they have gotten expensive. We've been using United.

I second this! My mom is a Total Rewards member with Caesars Entertainment and is a silver member and she gets SO MANY COMPS!! She's getting a ton from booking the wedding using them too. She got a free 7 day cruise to the Bahamas (which she said she might give to use for our honeymoon) and a $300 credit to spend in the Forum and another credit to the Coach store (not sure how much). She's getting free rooms left and right too. She got a lot before but after we booked the wedding she said she's been getting a lot more!

Also total rewards memebers get a discount on the total cost of weddings too. I forgot how much we get off, it's not too much but it does help!

That's good to hear about your dress just needing a bustle. I'm so short it's going to cost an arm and a leg to get my dress altered. =/
  • Wow! What an awesome day for you! LOL I will have to look into my players cards.. thanks for the heads up! Awesome on SWA and the dress too!

You are definitely right about that. My room at Caesers was 368, when i logged into my total rewards account I got it for 208. Big difference. My dad got his whole stay free. I use my card in atlantic city once a month, but dont really spend much. It pays off in the long run

  • Thanks everyone! I feel like things are finally coming together!! Only 129 days left! I wonder if you could sign up for total rewards online if you've never been to the casino and then log in with that? Anyway, hope it helps someone else!
  • Awesome! I saw the SWA sale today too. Very cool.

  • I'm going to try to sign up...can't hurt to try.
  • WOOOHOOO That is awesome :)  I'm only a few days ahead of you in October.  We actually booked our flights on SWA back in Feb and with their current sale, ended up getting 27,000 points back on our account - go me.

  • I can't sign up online. :( I tried yesterday and it told me that residents of Illinois cannot register online.  Boo hiss.
  • I will say this is specific to Total Rewards, which seems to be dramatically better than M Life.

We had our wedding at Mandalay Bay, our guests all stayed at MGM/Signature, and we all dropped a few hundred dollars at Aria and a few other M Life casinos.  We were comped the price of one breakfast buffet.  So, unless you're dropping tens of thousands of dollars (instead of about $10,000)...

Should have gone with Total Rewards...

I am a advocate of these reward programs, even if it's to get a free buffet.

I started about the same with Total Rewards and MLife, but in the end, I get way better deals with Total Rewards which came in handy the year we were planning our wedding. We had so many comp'd rooms, that we were able to do lots of scouting trips and trips to check in with our decor vendor and reception coordinator. I also applied the cost of our wedding @Caesars to my Total Rewards. I can't say enough for those brides/groom to take time to gamble/eat/stay and collect points, it does so much to get something back.
  • I'll +1 to going with Total Rewards over MLife if you're not already established with any particular player card and you want to play on the strip.  I only play craps and the huge difference there is that TR counts your odds bet towards your average bet while MLife doesn't; and since my odds bet is three to five times my pass line bet, that is significant, which is probably why their offers are significantly better.

My gambling at Harrahs in New Orleans counts towards the program too.

Just spent the past week at Golden Nugget and found them to be even better than TR; of course you're limited to just their property so it does have its draw backs.  It was such an enjoyable experience though with the dealers and pit bosses, and our host, that we'll definitely be going back there.  Had a much less corporate feel compared to the strip resorts.
