Pre-Wedding Rituals.....

Hey everybody!!!

I have noticed in my relationship I have been doing a lot of things to get ready for my wedding in a few weeks. I have been tanning for a month, whitening my teeth, watching what I eat, preping my skin for the dry vegas climate, and exercising 4-5 days a week...

My soon to be hubby has done nothing... I think it is so funny how women do all these things to prep for the wedding and most men don't do anything different!!

What did you guys do as pre-wedding rituals???

Happy Thursday!!! =)

My wedding isnt for nearly 5 months, but my I will be in Vegas this weekend for my sisters wedding.

So funny I was just talking about this subject with my FI recently. I am glad her wedding is coming and going just for the shear fact of all the things I have had to do to prep.. Such as... Dyed hair, cut hair, tanned for a month, dieting, running around town for weeks prior to the wedding, pedicures, manicures.. it seems endless.

But i will say my sisters FI did nothing at all in comparison to what we did to prepare for her wedding. Men... they have it easy!

Only to start again in a few months for my own wedding!

I completly forgot to add re-highlighting my hair and getting a hair cut!!!... My fiance told me "You can just buzz my hair off the day before we leave, it will probably still look decent on Thursday when we get married". HAHA I am glad he is so calm about getting married! LOL

Magic34K Have a great time at your sister's wedding! That will be great to get an inside preview of what your wedding will be like 5 months from now!! People always say beauty is pain.... haha

Thanks! We are both getting married at Chapel of the Flowers. I am excited to get to check everything out before my own wedding.

I will even be stopping by Retro Bakery for some cupcakes!  Its going to be a blast! I think the zip line on Fremont St. may be in my future also!

FI and i are doing p90x, but other than that, yeah, he's not doing much.  i think he's getting a haircut about a week or so before the wedding.  i got veneers, am getting the whole highlights and hair cut the week before, mani / pedi, etc.

but then again, we get to wear the pretty dress and shoes.  and get our hair and makeup done.  i was telling FI that he needs to be ready by a certain time and so he should schedule his golf game accordingly.  he was like 'um, it takes me 30 min to get ready.  i'll be fine'

FI and I are both working at losing weight and getting into better shape, though that's not JUST for the wedding.

FI will also get a real haircut (rather than just buzzing his own hair) and have a fancy straight razor shave before the wedding. I'm happy that he wants to look his absolute best that day!

But that seems easy compared to what I have planned: hair cut, hair dye, waxing, facials, maybe some teeth whitening and/or tanning, etc.

H didn't do anything, he's so busy. He had a haircut a week prior and that was it. He didn't shave either, he looks better a bit scruffy. lol

I on the other hand started dieting months and months before and also working out, but stopped because I started travelling a lot and the holidays came around and there was yummy food everywhere! lol And of course all the beauty prep. I was doing facials biweekly, waxing, massages, nails, hair cuts, etc.

FI and I are both in training for a marathon so we are losing weight for the wedding and the race.

    He's down almost 20 and I'm down 13.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

We already worked out, but we keep to the schedule more now than before we started planning.  I signed up for 2 half-marathons between now and the ceremony to help keep me on track.  We are both dieting, too.  FI ran one half-marathon with me last year and whined and cussed the whole way.  Needless to say, I am running with a friend and not FI.  :P

I haven't started any beauty regiments yet...I suppose I should start planning.  I'm sorta in an apathetic wedding planning doldrums phase because we have a lot of stuff already set and it still seems so far off to me.  Surprised

I suspect to kick it into full gear once the fall gets here. It was 105 here yesterday...hard to think about January when I'm trying not to die of heat stroke.

That's how I'm feeling! I think it's about to turn around for me though. I got that way right around 7 months and it's been there since. The big stuff is done. October feels so far away, because it's "after summer". I think when I hit 3 months, I'm going to go into panic mode and get the little crap done pretty quickly :)

we both work out like fiends, so nothing will change for the wedding. We'll whiten our teeth when it gets closer and get our haircut. but i think thats it. he takes just as long as i do since he won't let anyone else touch his beard and i know for the wedding hes gonna be working to get that chin strap perfect lol

but all this beauty talk makes me want to go get pampered :)

    Thing is - I HAVE NOT EVEN GONE DRESS SHOPPING YET.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif" border="0" alt="Surprised" title="Surprised" /> (not yelling...well I am yelling at myself)

I am forcing myself into full fledged dress mode in a few weeks - I took a week off of work to traipse around the southeast since the dresses here in town are Southern Belle/PPD gowns.  So I'm giving myself these last couple weeks to chill, then it's find the dress and then work on invitations.

Natrasha- Is your fiance getting a straight razor shave in Vegas? If so, do you know where yet? My fiance always wants to get a nice fancy shave while we are in Vegas.

He hasn't been there before, but it really looks to be the top of the line. I'm excited for him! It's in the Mirage.

There's also a place in Mandalay Bay called "The Art of Shaving".

FI and I have started tracking our calories using www.myfitnesspal.com It really helped to see how much we were over eating. We also started mountain biking 3 times a week. There's an 11 mile loop not to far from our house. We got those heart rate monitors to track how many calories were burning. I burn about 1000 calories on the ride FI burns about 1200. So riding should help us reach our weight loss goals (20 lbs for me, 30lbs for him)

Besides that, I've bought a few LivingSocial & Groupon deals for facials, massages, waxing, etc. Some of these are for pre wedding pampering, so are for pre-birthday pampering (the big 3-0 is in 2 1/2 weeks)

But I agree, boys defiantly have it easier than us ladies. Not fair
