Happy Monday!

Happy Monday, Ladies (and gents)! I'm sad the weekends over...I wasted it with a nasty cold. But, it's only a three day week for me, so I'm happy!

I have a feeling this is going to be a short week for almost everyone----so, let's hear it. What are your Thanksgiving plans? And...of course...what are you most thankful for?

I'll answer my own questions---Thanksgiving plans = heading home for the first time since we moved out of state. Alone. I asked Rich to stay behind so I could have some time with my family (my parents went through a rocky divorce over a year ago, and we're still having issues trying to find our way).

Which leads me to what I'm thankful for: Rich....and, my family. I have a wonderful husband that is more than happy to step back when I need some time to spend running all over Northeast Ohio visiting my now defunct family. And my family, who, although dysfunctional, still remains more sane than myself on most days.

I hope you feel better, Rach!

We're volunteering at a local community dinner on Thanksgiving morning and then my mom has decided she wants to go out for dinner this year.  I think it'll be strange to not have a home cooked meal, but I'm willing to give it a go. I'm thankful for my family also.

Yay for short work weeks, woo woo! :)

Ebony, that's amazing! Go you for volunteering!

We won't be having Thanksgiving dinner either--I'll probably end up getting a pizza with my dad somewhere; I know your pain....it'll definitely be odd.

Fi has to work thanksgiving (hes a manager at a railroad so while all his guys take the holiday off...hes stuck at work for 16 hours) so Im cooking, driving out to FI work to drop him and the other managers off some thanksgiving dinner then Im headed to my dads for dinner. When FI gets home I'll be heading out with my friend to do some After-Thanksgiving shopping....the Chicago outlet mall opens at 9pm on thursday and I plan to pretty much finish up our Christmas shopping then! I have to work a half day on Friday so I'll probably be recovering and eating turkey & White Castle stuffing leftovers all weekend : )

And I am so thankful for my fiance...hes amazing. Both sides of my family are a mess and hes always been there for me!

Thanksgiving - We'll be heading up to Northern MN, a couple hours north of the Twin Cities, to spend it with my family. FI originally was going to go to his grandparents (in the cities) as his Grandpa had been sick, and he thought this may be his last Thanksgiving with him. I wanted to see my Grandma up north as we don't get to see them as much, so we were going it alone this year. Sadly, his Grandpa passed away last week so he's now coming up with me.

I am thankful for - My FI of course, the fact that FI's Grandpa didn't suffer, and our families.

On another note, my sister and I haven't talked in well over a month due to a bridesmaid dress debacle and ultimately her saying she wasn't in the wedding. So being in the same house with her all day should be interesting:)

I'm Canadian so our Thanksgiving was last month.  My FI is American and lives in WA though so I'm taking my parents on the 4.5 hour drive to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family.  Our parents have on met once and very briefly, they didn't really get a chance to get past the "hi, nice to meet you stage."  Our parents are complete  opposites so this should be interesting!

I am thankful for an amazing FI who loves me unconditionally and an awesome family, although disfunctional at times.

Rach, good luck with your family.  Sorry you have to spend the holiday away from your H. Sara, sorry to hear about your FI`s grandpa.

Yes Happy Monday!!! I am finally off call for week!  I am not teathered to my phone 24/7 anymore.

Thanksgiving is going to be low-key because Sunday we are leaving for Las Vegas!  I am thankful that my dad will be healthy enough to fly out to my wedding.

We had Thanksgiving with my family last night.  Thanksgiving day we are flying down to visit DH's family in ATL.

So many things to be thankful for this year: First my DH for keeping me sane when all the little things start to get to me and second for family and being able to spend the holiday with both of them.  We didn't think it was going to be possible but managed to find a steal of a deal a while ago.

I am thankful for my health and of course my friends & family, and especially my fiance!  The holidays used to be a really hard time for me for several reasons, but now that I have my fiance and his family I actually look forward to them!
**Thanksgiving Eve is always a big deal for my family, we usually go out for a nice dinner, this year
OUR PARENTS are meeting for the first time on Thanksgiving eve!  I'm sure it will be nice but also awkward lol.

I don't know how my Thanksgiving will be since I'm still in Iraq. I have worked everyday nonstop for the last 10+ months so I might be working and going to the dining facility for dinner (as usual).

I'm thankful for finally finding the one (story on my bio and blog). I'm also thankful for the support our families and friends have given us while we've been deployed. Finally I am thankful to God for keeping FI and I safe over the last year, many of our fellow servicemen/women did not make it back home. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers...

Plans:  FI's family coming over for the big dinner - it's be cool as we're setting up the webcam, so Darling can Skype and he'll be with us (sorta).  Then parties on Friday and a big shopping trip with some Military wives on Sat/Sun.  (I'm tired just typing all that!)

I'm thankful for being so blessed with friends and family who love us.  A good solid roof over our head.  A job that I love with terrific people I work with.  I'm thankful for having found the right man at the right time and being mature enough to appreciate him.  I'm thankful that most of our friends have come home alive and that we have brothers & sisters in uniform willing to stand guard so that we can sleep peacefully at night.  They will always be an extra place setting at our table for those that should be there but can't.

Plans: I'm cooking dinner for my family and FI, so 12 people total.  Hopefully i can get out of work a little early on Wednesday to finish cooking.  Alao want to see if I can get up for Black Friday this year (sleeping always sounds so much better).

I am thankful for my friends and family mostly, i don't know what I would do without them. I am also thankful that I am empkoyed, last year at this time I was not.

    Happy Turkey Day Week!!!!

I'm thankful that my family has survived the Medical Karma Crisis of 2010!  For a couple of weeks in October, I had family going through medical centers and emergency rooms.  But now, everyone is healthy and things are finally getting back to normal.

We're going to spend Thanksgiving Day at my mom's.  Friday is going to be all about spending the day in my jammies.  DH is going to go to see his folks in Arizona on Saturday and will come back Sunday.  I would have gone, but I'm in serious need of some down time.

We had an early Thanksgiving on Saturday with one of our friends' parents.  It's not a short week for me, unfortunately.  I work in a ski resort town so the slopes open on Thanksgiving.  Holidays usually mean work for me...  FI has to work as well but I'll be able to leave work early to cook Thanksgiving dinner for our "family," meaning some of our closest friends here.  There will be 5 of us.

So much to be Thankful for - Thanksgiving day will actually be the 1 year anniversary of when we closed on our condo.  I'm of course thankful for my FI and for our dog that we adopted in January.  I'm thankful that my mom's surgery back in October went amazingly well and she's healthy.  And of course thankful for all of my friends & family.

Plans- I am cooking for all of FI's family. Don't know how many but we are going all out with a turkey, fried turkey, ham, and pork loin. My parents didn't want to spend thanksgiving on the road so we are just going to celebrate big at Christmas.

Today, I am thankful I made it to work safely. The interstate was like an ice skating rink all 170 miles into Denver. I'm also thankful that FI and I have finally figured out a plan that will enable me to move in with him sooner than expected.

My job gave me Thanksgiving off, so I'm going to be working on homework for most of the day. Ben has to work, so I'll time dinner for when he gets home. His family is doing a party but by the time he gets off work and we drive out there (45 min), it would be 8:30/9, everyone will have eaten. Plus I work the next day. His assistant manager might be joining us at our house, her husband got stationed over on the east coast, so she's home alone.
I am going to attempt to make a dead bird of some type for them to eat. I havn't decided whether to make manacotti  or lasagna for me, and, of course, veggies, mashed taters, fruit salad, and make of pie of some sort, havn't figured out what kind.
Black Friday I have to work at 4am, so early to bed for me. then I get to come home, take a nap, and go to the other job. Fun day. Gonna be like that all weekend. Oh and I have to have my rough draft of my research paper done by Monday. I'm so glad there's only a few weeks left at school

I cook the annual Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Only 7 people this year so should be fairly easy. Biggest issue will be scheduling dinner around NE Patriots game since they are playing this year on Thanksgiving.

What am I thankful for? Of course, DH. My parents have been both ill but doing well now so that is great. Our 16 y/o dog, Freddy, had a stroke a couple of weeks ago, but he is making an amazing recovery, so very grateful for him also.

I'm invited to an overseas Thanksgiving party where I'm going to meet new people and make new friends. I'm so excited! My BF here in Rome is taking me, she'll be my date in the absence of my darling Wiwi :-)))))
I'm thankful for her and of course my wonderful dreamy perfect FH. I'm also thankful for the health and well being of my wonderful mom and dad, their generosity and their unconditional love. Thankful for my teachers and for all the professional artists around me that respect me and enrich me everyday.
