I haven't really been posting lately -- busy packing and planning. Why we decided to move and get married a week later is beyond me... I remember there was a good reason at one time ... but I'd known thne, what I know now...lol!

Anyway... I just wanted to check in and say howdy before y'all forgot me (not that I posted much before anyway, so some of you may never have known me in the first place! lol)

6. We're including our mothers in the ceremony (neither of us has our father and it's Mother's Day weekend!). It's also the day before my parents said "I do", so I will incorporate that as well.

7. Nothing annoying yet, just bewilderment over our choice to get married at 1pm on a Friday -- if people can't make it, I won't be upset.

8. When I started posting about our engagement on facebook (after telling people in person, of course), my best friend posted "Woo hoo Vegas here we come!!"  We hadn't even announced where the wedding would be located (So.Cal vs. Vegas), she just knew I always planned to get married in Vegas!

9. Depends - gym, beach....or napping on the couch, LOL!

10. I love the nightlife, dancing until 4am (which is what I plan to do on my wedding day)

7. Most annoying reaction you've had when people find out you're getting (or have gotten) married in Vegas? Everyone's been cool so far!

8. Coolest reaction you've had when people find out you're getting married in Vegas?  "Um, yeah, no doubt we'll be there!!"

9. On Saturday afternoon, you'll most likely find me and FI doing ...... Currently, Skyping and playing video games online together.  Once we're living in the same country, most likely still playing video games but then also cooking, going to sporting events, concerts, etc.

10. Favorite thing to do / place to visit in Vegas? Sit by the pool.  Dinner at Burger Bar/CraftSteak/In-N-Out.  Play craps.  Soak in the tub.

6. One fun thing / personal touch you're integrating into your ceremony or reception? Music is big for us, so it's incorporated on the guestbook, petal toss bags, another decor item, on the program, on the welcome bag tag

7. Most annoying reaction you've had when people find out you're getting (or have gotten) married in Vegas? Just a couple comments on "how much it's going to cost" type thing

8. Coolest reaction you've had when people find out you're getting married in Vegas? FI's good friend's wife whom I've become close with, whom has 2 small kids, says the trip gets here through the day sometimes:)

9. On Saturday afternoon, you'll most likely find me and FI doing ...... going to the horsetrack, getting together w/friends for bbq's/bags, going to Buffolo Wild Wings (also an addiction), laying by the pool, nothing but watch movies/tv at times.

10. Favorite thing to do / place to visit in Vegas? Drink, dress up, go out for a nice dinner, then more drinking.

Okay, first off: 

People inviting themselves is very annoying. Apparently, I have a group of about 10 extra people who were going to wedding crash, who I don't even know. They were going to come hang out with another invited guest. Thankfully she caught wind of what they were planning and put the brakes on that! (She knew they were coming to Vegas, but not that they were planning to come and eat my food too!)

And Sara .... HELLS YES to B-dubs!! They sunk their hooks into me deep! :-) Favorite flavor? (I'm addicted to the Jerk flavored wings!)

5. At the moment, I'm addicted to the seating plan tool on the TK and looking at different wedding cake designs.

6. FI and I love travel, and it's been a huge part of our story since I met him 3 months before he was due to move overseas...and2 months  after being without him, I moved here too!  So we're incorporting our love of travel into a theme for the reception (it makes more sense if you look at my bio lol)

7. The reaction that most annoys me is when people go "shotgun wedding?" Uh, actually no, I planned this buddy! Just cuz I'm going to Vegas it has to be seedy? My wedding is going to be awesome so neener-neener-nu! lol

8. Coolest reaction: My friend took a picture with his toddler in aviator shades and a beanie similar to the baby from the first Hangover film and sent it to me. The only text was "consider this our RSVP." lol!

9. On skype talking to friends and family back home, asleep on the couch or working out (gym for him or spare bedroom for me).

10. At the pool, people watching with an overly frilly/fruity drink in my hand. So far, I've mostly been at the Flamingo pool since that's where we usually stay when we go (at the hilton condos), but I'm looking to try the Golden Nugget's shark tank / waterslide extravaganza :-). That thing looks very cool.

Ugh, I'm totally anticipating a few wedding crashers since everyone we know lives within a 3-5 hour driving distance from Vegas.  Just because it's in Vegas doesn't mean general wedding etiquette goes out the window!!

I know right!  Hmm if I had to pick a favorite, I'd say Parmesan Garlic, then Honey BBQ, lastly good old Medium.  What's even better is when I'm doing my low carb crapola diet I can still have wings!  (not honey bbq though).  Since my first fitting is Aug. 6th I've been doing the low carb thing for a week or so, so every Tues., Wing Night it is!  Caribbean Jerk is good to though!

6. One fun thing / personal touch you're integrating into your ceremony or reception? I'm making bouquet charms of my two kitties and all my jewelry (including my ering) is family jewelry/heirlooms.

7. Most annoying reaction you've had when people find out you're getting (or have gotten) married in Vegas? I hate the look on the faces of some people when you tell them- you can tell they're thinking two drunk people in jeans and a t-shirt having a quickie wedding in a grungy chapel. Not that there's anything wrong with being drunk or wearing jeans or getting married in a grungy chapel- this is exactly how my parents got married (hehe). But I hate having to qualify it with "No, it's a traditional wedding with a dress and flowers and the whole works!"

8. Coolest reaction you've had when people find out you're getting married in Vegas? Most people have thought the idea is awesome. The most common reaction we got was "I've always wanted to go to Vegas!"

9. On Saturday afternoon, you'll most likely find me and FI doing ...... Watching movies, seeing friends and family, at the beach, or shopping.

10. Favorite thing to do / place to visit in Vegas? We're gamblers- you'll see us at the craps table!

I'm still not 100%, but I'm almost set on purple, turquoise, and royal blue.

Venus Garden at Caesars Palace.

Looking at bouquet inspiration!

We've decided that I will have two wedding bands. Colleen will give me one during our commitment ceremony in Vegas, and the second when we get legally married in Vancouver.

"...But it's not legal there, is it?" As if they think we're completely uninformed.

"Yeah! Now I finally have an excuse to go/go back to Vegas!"

I love seeing shows! And visiting the tequila bar in Bally's.

7. Most annoying reaction you've had when people find out you're getting (or have gotten) married in Vegas? So far just from my parents. But that's cause they want us to get married in a church. FI is not religious.

8. Coolest reaction you've had when people find out you're getting married in Vegas? Just really excited cause they know it will be fun.

9. On Saturday afternoon, you'll most likely find me and FI doing ......nothing! Lol. FI works Saturdays so he likes to come home and relax.

10. Favorite thing to do / place to visit in Vegas? We like to eat and shop. Great BBQ at Ellis Island and All You Can Eat Sushi in Chinatown.
