I'm hoping this isn't something to be concerned about, but let's just ask this question of you April 2012 brides:

If you are getting married on April 21st (or close to it), have you send out your invitations yet?

Mine are going out this weekend and next week. We're just doing a buffet and no assigned seating, super casual so I don't need an exact rsvp count.

i am 4\21\12 and I just sent mine out on tuesday, with RSVP date  4\1,   we sent out STD so everyone knew that an invite was coming.

I am the 29th, but I mailed mine out about a month ago since over 75% of our guests would have to fly in for the wedding (including my fiance and I)! I think it depends on location and type of reception, if people don't have to travel and you don't have to give your #'s to the caterer several weeks in advance you can send them 4-6 weeks before your wedding. Did you send out a Save the Date? If so most of your guests that plan to attend probably already have it on their calendar!

For our 4/28/12 wedding, they went out on 2/28/12.

Hmmm....

My husband and I recieved an STD for a 4/21 wedding.  It requires plane tickets and hotel rooms, which are all booked.

We have yet to recieve the invitation.

Imma kinda ticked.

I think it's probably worth contacting the bride or groom.  Several April brides have had invitations get lost in the mail and they never would have known if they hadn't contacted the couple and asked.

And if they changed their guest list, it'll only be 30 seconds of ackwardness.  :-/

Argh.  I know invitations get lost (I planned my own wedding last year), but I'd hate for my husband to hear "oh yeah, we disinvited you."  I'll let him handle it.

Oh my, I'd be too. We sent ours out about 1 month ago. There was one couple who received an invite to another 4-21 wedding almost 1 month before that...which I think is excessive. That's the purpose of STDs. It's really late to be sending invites now. The only logical explanation is that yours was lost in the mail. If it truly is that they uninvited you, then wouldn't you want to know sooner rather than later?

I sent mine out almost a month ago.  I definitely think it is unacceptable to send a STD and not an invite.  I would check in with them.  Had you planned on going since you did have the STD?  It seems like you haven't booked flights or hotel yet though.

Yeah, this was what I was too chicken to ask. Almost all of my OOT guests booked their flights about 1 month before I even sent out invites since I did STDs 6 months ago. I guess it's too late now anyway, if things are booked up.

Just call/text/facebook the person... stuff gets lost in the mail all the time.  Chances are they are dreading having to call all the people that didn't RSVP to their wedding....  and you are on that list.

I'm a 4/21 bride and I sent out my invites at the 3 month mark. We didn't do any STD's.

And Joy...I think its definitely worth a call since you have your flight and hotel booked already

From the way I, and apparently the PP read it, it seemed like you were saying all of the available flights & hotels were already booked up. As in, you're sitting there waiting for an invite & now it's too late to book something. YOU obviously know what you meant when you typed that, but it read differently. Glad to hear that you do have a way to get there. I hope it works out for you!

I agree you said that the hotels and flights are all booked, which I read as full like you couldn't find anything.  I am sorry if I misread, and you didn't post it twice as you posted the same thing the second time which can still be read in the way you do not want it to.  

Anyways, I agree to just give a call, because it is definitely rude to be sent a STD, now you have spent money on flights and hotel and then not get an invite.
