Linnell House Question...

Greetings all!!! I am looking to possibly have a Sunday, daytime, ceremony and reception at the Captain Linnell House (also looking at Dennis Inn and Lighthouse Inn). Would any of you be willing to share ceremony fees and/or the site fee? Also experiences with your planning and your special day :) would be greatly appreciated. cheers!jayrho

Are you just looking for info on CLH?

Hi!  That's exactly what I'm doing - Sunday daytime ceremony and reception!  I love how everything there is priced so straight forward.  We are paying a $500 site fee to have the ceremony in the garden. There was none for the reception.  We put down 10% but it's not a site fee per se - it goes toward the charges the day of. I booked last December and haven't had much communication with Shelley so far since it's still kind of far away but I've stopped by a lot to show friends and she's always friendly and welcoming.  I've booked most of my vendors so let me know if you have any other questions!

Shelly confused the heck out of me. So the 10%, was that the "Mansion/room fee"? In our discussion she was non stop and I feel weird having to keep calling to get this explained. She mentioned a deposit and a masion fee so i didn't know if they were the same. Hooray..my mind is a ease :)The place is beautiful. I love the wisteria! Too bad they won't be in bloom in Sept. How did you go about your cake design?

I haven't done anything regarding a cake yet.  Another CLH bride who was married in June told me that CLH provides it but since it's through an external cake vendor you still go to tastings, choose what flavor and design you want.

I had my reception there last September but the ceremony was on Skaket Beach.  They get their cake from Dottie Lovely who is awesome!  You go to her house and design the cake.  She doens't do tasting but you can orde a cake with the flavors you want to try and it is only about $15 I think.  It was soooo good!  We had the chocolate peppermint with fudge filling and butter yellow with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting. If you have any CLH questions let me know.

My daughter had a daytime reception at the Linnell House last Sept.  I paid a non-refundable $1500 mansion fee.  There would have been an additional fee if the ceremony had been held there.  The $1500 was not deducted from the total cost.  The wedding was wownderful.  Shelley really does know what she's doing.  Whenever my daugher or I emailed her with questions she she always answered promptly.  The day went off without a hitch.  I was also doing the planning for a very laid back bride!

I suggest sending her an email and asking.  She could have changed her policy from last year.  And i know she discounts for Sunday weddings.  Also, sometimes she's so busy it' just easier to get the answer in email.
