Hi! I'm getting married at LHI on 9/26, and SO looking forward to it.  My experience with Bill has been pretty good, he was great at the meeting where we decided on meals, details, etc, and was great after when I changed my mind on some things:)  He has been doing this for a long time, and knows his stuff.   You can't get close to the water for their prices, I love the Cape-y feel, and that it is not pretentious (sp?).  I am not having my ceremony there, but they have been upfront with all costs, and I think the costs are reasonable. GL!

I'm sure their service is fine, but they struck me as being a little rude.  I had contacted them months ago when I was deciding on a venue for my wedding.  Bill was very nice and provided me with all the information I asked for, but ultimately my FI and I decided to go with a different venue down the Cape.  I never booked anything with them to begin with, so this was no big deal.I am now at the point where I would like to start blocking off some hotel rooms for guests who will be traveling from out of state to the wedding.  I remembered how attentive the Lighthouse Inn had been, and inquired about their policy for blocking off rooms for my guests, and even about having my rehersal dinner there. They were very rude, and immediately gave me an attitude saying "we give first priority for rooms to guests of our OWN weddings, thank you," and pretty much turned me away.  I have not contacted them since.

My son was married at the LHI last year and I can't say enough good things about them! My family all stayed in the Gate House and their college friends took over the Lodge. My son and daughter in law stayed in an oceanfront cottage, and other guests were scattered throughout the property. We all made a weekend of it and had a blast! Bill even allowed us to host the rehearsal dinner on the lawn in front of their oceanfront cottage. The reception was flawless and Bill was in the background all night long to ensure things ran smoothly. I wish we could do it again :)

Lighthouse08- great to hear your reviews!  We are taking over that place in less than two weeks for my wedding.  Part of what appealed to us about LHI was the cottage layout, and cozy feel.  My FI's family is huge, they are using the Lodge and the Guest house, and most of our friends are using the smaller cottages.  We are having our 'after party' on the lawn near the Lodge:) For others- I think Bill is 'very down to business', so if you aren't used to it, it might translate into being 'short'.   Honestly though, he runs a tight ship, and I have every faith in him, and have had some good laughs with him in the wedding process.Hope some of this helps!

jrcads-Well, we are just kind of playing it by ear.  We had told them that we would stay on site for an 'after party' and they were ok with it.  I know there is a night wedding, and I want to be respectful of that.  My FI's family has rented the Lodge, near the tennis court, so that will be our base, since it is not right near the reception area. Who knows how long we'll last:)  The SandBar across the street opens at 8, so we can head over there if needed.Hope that helps!  I'll definitely post reviews when they are done.
