Hotel Room Blocks

Hi everyone, I am planning a wedding at Wequassett for next summer and I am trying to set up hotel blocks. I keep getting told that because my wedding is in July, blocks cant be set up. Does anyone know of any hotels in the mid-Cape area that they were successfully able to set room blocks at?

I am getting married at the Wequassett in June and I am being told the same thing. My FI and I stayed at the Hawthorne motel which is right down the road this summer. He said he would block some rooms for us but we are getting married June 26..right before the 4th. We are having our rehearsal dinner at the Wayside Inn (chatham). They are blocking ten rooms for us only because we are having a "function" there. I wouldn't worry about it ...if you send a save the date most people will have PLENTY of time!

My biggest problem with room blocks is that the hotels are requiring a 2 night stay with the room block.  So while I can reserve the rooms, my guests are pretty much required to stay 2 days even if they don't want to (but i mean, really, who WOULDN'T want to stay 2 days??).  I've done a room block at the Clarion in S. Yarmouth for June 26 weekend (may be a bit farther from Chatham, but they are willing to do the blocks).
