How many

Ok guys I am curious how big or small was your wedding party.  I feel like some days I have a huge WP then other days I feel its normal.

1 MOH
6 BMs
2 FGs

1 BM
5 (or 6) GMs --FI is considering asking one guy but still hasnt made his mind up
1 RB

Also, are your physically close to your WP?
MOH, 2 BM 2 FGs live 4 hours from me
--Charlotte area but one lives actually in SC  but close to Charlotte
1 BM lives in the same city with me
1BM-Ohio
1BM-Penn.
1BM-Maryland

BM & 1GM & RB lives in FI home town (2.5 hours from us)
2GM 4 hours away
1 (or 2) lives in the same city as us
1GM-Penn.

I feel like we have the eastern sea board covered Undecided

Just curious how is or was your wedding party?

I have 3 bridesmaids.  The maid of honor lives in Seattle, one of the bridesmaids lives in California and the other in Raleigh.

He has 3 groomsmen.  The best man and one of the groomsmen live in Raleigh.  The other lives in Japan!

I haven't decides on whether we'll have a flower girl but it's not likely.  The only girl I would really consider is my cousin but they all live in Austria so they might not even be able to make it out to the wedding.

I have 6 BMs -- 2 here in GSO, 1 (sister) who lives in Emerald Isle, and MOH and 2 BMs (incl. another sister) are in Denver, CO

4 GM who are all in NC

No FG or RB because we don't have any kids young enough in our families and we can't figure out how to use the dog as the ring bearer :)

Do not feel bad!! I would consider mine big as well :)

    1 MOH
    5 BM
    1 junior BM
    1 RB
    1 FG

    1 BM
    4-5 GM

As far as closeness...MOH goes to ECU, so will be in Greenville up until the wedding in May, other than holidays. Same for 3 other BMs- two in school at UNC and one at NCSU. Another BM works in Raleigh, and another works here in Charlotte- it has already been hard to even get them all together for a planning luncheon or to see my venues!

Junior BM is in Raleigh; FG and RB live here in Charlotte, actually on FI's street.

BM is here in Charlotte. And now for the GM...one will be in Greenville all year (also at ECU); one in Charlotte; one in DC; one in Atlanta; and one in Wilmington.

    I had 7 BM, 7 GM, and 1 FG.
Everyone was pretty spread out, but for the most part, people were in NC.

I have 5 bm's.  MOH in VA, 1 bm in CA (right now, she may be anywhere by the time the wedding gets here, her work has her move around a lot), and 3 bms in NC.

FI hasn't decided on groomsmen, but will likely have 3-5 all of whom are in NC or VA, unless one gets the job he just applied for in NYC, then he'll be there.

We don't have a RB or FG.

If you want a big wedding party, go for it!  Nobody can tell you who is special in your life and who isn't.  I was just in a wedding with 1 MOH, 7 BM, 1 JR BM, 1 FG, and the guys had just as many.  She has lots of friends from all different parts of her life and wanted us all involved - so do what you like!

    I have
    1 MOH (NC)
4 BM (all NC for now)
    1 FG (NC)

    1 BM (NC)
    5 GM (4 NC, 1 VA)
    1 RB (NC)

Guess we lucked out with having a really local group!

I feel like we have a pretty big WP too!  I actually just posted yesterday about the geographical spread of our WP to someone who was struggling with having 1 OOT member of the WP and trying to cut her costs.  Most of our closest friends were from being in school at WCU so we have people spread all over NC/SC for the most part.  Having our wedding in Lake Lure is a pretty good centralized choice for the WP.

1 MOH - Western Carolina (Not necessarily the school...but definitely west of Asheville)
    5 BM - 1- Gastonia, 1 - Charlotte, 1 - Myrtle Beach, 1 - Western Carolina, 1 - Greenville, NC
1 FG - Nashville, TN (My whole fam lives in South Central Kentucky and Nashville...my little niece is going to be PRECIOUS!)

    2 BM - 1-Charlotte, 1-Western Carolina
    4 GM - 1- Charlotte, 1- Greenville, SC, 2- Western Carolina

I'm having 3 BM, 1 Best Man, 1 GM, 1 GW (groomswoman).  Three in NY, two in NC, and one in FL.  No FG or RB.

I feel my group is pretty small but FI doesn't have too many close friends.  I had to make some really tough decisions on the BM selection.  I spoke face to face with 3 potential BM to let them know I couldn't ask them.  Reallly ROUGH!

I didn't really feel like my WP was that large until I started calculating the total number (including their spouses) for the rehearsal dinner!  That's when it became reality for me that we really do have a fairly large WP.  We have:

My side: 1 Matron of Honor; 1 Maid of Honor; 3 BM, 3 FG (most everyone lives in the vicinity of us except 2 BM are in Raleigh.

His side: 1 BM, 4 GM, 1 RB (most of his side is in the roundabout area as us except two are in Raleigh like on my side.)

When you add all that up (plus spouses/the kids parents/etc), it makes the WP close to 40 people for the rehearsal dinner.  We are paying for everything ourselves, so we are now trying to figure out an affordable place to take everyone for the RD.
