Done with all the big vendors!

I just put my deposit in the mail for my officiant and photographer. With that I have my venue (Treyburn Country Club in Durham), DJ, officiant, videographer (FI's uncle who has a business) and photographer are done. We are meeting with the florist on Thursday but we know we will use them b/c my FI went to college with one of the owners and she is going to give us a good deal. Very exciting to now be able to focus on my dress and the smaller fun details! What did other people plan next?

Thats great news.  (hey we have the same date!!) 

We still have to find an officiant and a caterer and that should do it for our "big" stuff.  Can't wait it is such a relief to get those things out of the way! 

My biggest problem is the caterer.  It seems like every caterer I talk to just e-mails me a menu and tells me to pick... agg, i would like for someone to talk to me not just throw paper in my face.

Congrats! Isn't it a great feeling to have all those things taken care of. For me it made it feel like the wedding was really going to happen.

Have you tried La-Tea-Da's here in Charlotte?  I think their food is great and presented beautifully.  But you may have already checked them out as they are pretty well known in Charlotte.

Congrats!  We (also) have the same wedding date! 

I'm working on the officiant right now.  Have the venue, caterer, photog and hotel block.  Almost 100% committed to a dress I found.  Next comes the cup cake bakery and florist.

It's such a great feeling to have those big checks marked off the list!!

Thanks everyone! It's a nice feeling to have the major stuff booked. I guess next I need to get my dress and bridesmaid dresses.
