JP Trouble

Hi All,
I was scheduled to have a meeting with my JP this Saturday AM, but he never showed up and now I am a little hesitant to have him officiate our ceremony.  When I called him he said he just forgot and that he was sick last week.  I have not met him yet, so this was our official meeting but in previous conversations he was a pleasant man.  I have been told by several people so far to find someone else (I am having my reception at CLH and Shelly immediately told me to drop him), but can anyone else offer me advice?  And is anyone else using someone they are 100% happy with?   We are looking for a spiritual, non-denominational ceremony.
Thanks in advance for your tips!

Try Sharon Pickering out of New Bedford.  Very personalble and relaxing to meet with.  She will do any type of ceremony you would like.  I dont have her # with me but you can google her...good luck!

We used Nancy Wurlitzer for our ceremony on Skaket Beach (reception at CLH).  She was wonderful and we got so many positive comments from our families and friends.  Her website is http://www.acapecodweddingminister.com/

If you don't mind could you post who this JP is?  I am nervous it might be the JP that I am using.

    Thanks!

The JP we booked is Nick Boas, he came recommended from a couple other people on this site.  We still haven't cancelled him yet, trying to find someone else, but we might be stuck using him.  I hate to talk badly about him and I understand these things happen (he does seem like a nice guy), but for my ceremony his actions are definitely not giving me confidence.

Oh crap, that is who we are using!  Hmmmm......

He was great when we first met him but not very responsive but it would have been b/c our wedding was still 9 months out.  Not sure what to do.  Thanks for letting us know who it was!

Try Rev. Faith Lavender!!!  She is soooo attentive, super sweet, and writes ceremonies specific to you and your fiance.  My future sis-in-law and her hubby used her and we are, too.  http://www.capecodceremonies.com/

Yeah, he was really sorry about missing it and obviously knew he kind of messed up, but he has been unresponsive as well.  Unfortunately, Faith Lavender and Lucien Ponyant (SP?) are booked the day of our wedding so we are still looking around.  I put an email in to Nancy.  Thanks for your input guys!

You have probably already considered it and decided against it, but you can also have a friend/family member get a one-day pass to ordain a wedding (we are having my FFIL be our officiant). The application needs to be filled out a few weeks in advance, but if you're in a bind, this might be an option.

If you are still looking I second Rev. Wurlitzer.  My husband and I used her and she couldn't have made our ceremony more us (plus we wanted non-denominational too since we are different religions and she did a great job of blending both our faiths)
