catholic priest?

Hi girls - i usually look at the New Jersey board, but my friend is getting married in the cape next year and i told her i'd post a question for.  She's looking to for a catholic priest that would marry her and her fiance outside of the catholic chruch (at their reception in cape cod) she's having a hard time finding someone, she's only finding officiants.  she and her family would really prefer a catholic priest.  does anyone know of anyone, or have any suggestions?  thank you so much in advance.

It's extremely unlikely that a Catholic priest will marry them outside of a Catholic church. They would need a special dispensation and a very good reason why they can't do it in a church, not just that they want everything in the same place. Sorry.

If she has questions about any of the churches on the cape, like which will marry non-parishoners, feel free to post.

We went through the same thing, and it's pretty much impossible that a Catholic priest will perform a marriage outside of a church.  We had an episcopal priest perform our ceremony with no problems - but if she is set on having a Catholic ceremony, it's most likely going to have to be in a church.

Rev. Nancy Wurtlitzer is a non-denominational minister who will create a ceremony as close to a traditional service (like Catholic) as you want. She's been so awesome for us! I wanted a Catholic priest to to the service but they would not. And I'm a Cape girl who is not sacrificing a wedding on the beach for a wedding officiant!

    Hi there,

My parents officient in the Catholic tradition on Cape Cod (and perform ceremonies inside and outside), check out their website: http://www.evensongretreat.com/wed.html Both my mother and step-father are ordained in the Catholic Ecumenical Church.  They were the officients at my wedding last Sept at Wequassett, the ceremony is performed in the Catholic tradition.  Give them a call or email, they will be happy to talk to you about what they offer.
