Massachusetts-Cape Cod

what did you use for......

HI Ladies,

I feel like such a loser, I still haven't sent out my invites yet. I'm doing DIY and will hopefully have them printed & stamped in the next two days.

I went to the post office last week to see what they have for stamps. I have post card RSVP's and all they have for post card stamps is polar bears. Polar bears? Really? For a summer, Cape Cod wedding? I know it's just a stamp, but the lengths we go to to have a theme, this sticks out to me as not going with our beach theme. I don't have any idea what to do to find cuter postage.

For the invites, the standard 44 cent stamps will work for me so I have the choice between wedding rings, wedding cake, and purple pansies that say love on them (purple is one of our colors). I'm not sure if I have a preference between those.

What did/are you ladies using for postage? Is it beach themed? How/where did you find it? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

TIA!

I am getting married on the beach in Falmouth at the Casino Wharf !  8/28 !  i am making my own invites too - i'm soooo nervous!  but they are coming out beautiful !  What did people do without the internet / clip art / photoshop?!   anyway, i will probably use the rings.  they are elegant.  I have a shell 'stamp" (rubber stamp) with gold ink  that I might use on the back just to add a touch of  the beach on the envelope.
    Good Luck !!

The polar bears are the only postcard stamps, so that's what I'll be using. I mean, I do love animals, but really? Maybe they will come out with a new one before I send mine in Aug.

If my invites are light enough for a 44 cent stamp I will either use the purple LOVE ones or the shelter animal ones. The animal ones aren't wedding at all, of course, but my whole family has shelter dogs so people would get it.

I was able to use a regular 44 cent stamp so I used the "love" ones for both the invites and the response cards.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm just going to come to terms with the polar bear postcard stamps. I went with postcard RSVP's to save money, so I should just stick with it I guess.

    Thanks again!

we sent STD's back in October ... and now, eight months later ... its the same old polar bear stamps for postcards.  We sucked it up and used them.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a new design - they dont seem to change them up often.  We had the lighthouse stamps for 90% of our response card enveloples, because they were discontinued - but they were the closest thing to "beachy" we could find, and that was all we could get our hands on. Our invites were 64-cent stamps - but I cannot remember for the life of me what was on those stamps.

We used the polarbears a full year ago for our STDs. I was also dismayed, but just laughed it off and used them. Nobody noticed! Don't worry about it :-)

I used the breast cancer awareness stamps... I wasn't doing a theme with my stamps so they worked perfectly!
