Has anyone been to a wedding and had the food at the New Seabury Club? My mom's co-worker said that she went to a wedding there a few years ago and it was the worst wedding she has ever been too! And that the food was a big part in that. Has anyone else been to a wedding there and had an awful time? THANKS!

I haven't eaten there but I never heard that before. My friend is getting married at the Poppanesett Inn and didn't have anything bad to say (same place, two different venues). The Country Club there was our second choice of venue. One thing I didn't like was I felt like they charge for every little thing, like a cake cutting fee.

Hi..I am usually never here since my daughters wedding, but it is a slow day at work. I happened to see your post. My daughter was married at the Popponnesset Inn , in September ( same food). The food was wonderful and we were very happy with our experience there. I don't feel they charged for every little thing, if you can find it, I did a review after the wedding. HTH

My friend got married there about a year and a half ago, it was probably the best wedding Ive been too! It is beautiful there! I know that she was happy with her experience.  Good luck!

I have had one good and one bad experience there. The food was great one time, ok the other. I think what made the experience bad was more staffing issues than food taste that second time.

Yes,

My finacee and I have eaten there on many occassions, for weddings, New Years and just to go for dinner.  She loves the swordfish and I like the steak & ceasar (big surprise). The events food is always very good.  The atmosphere is great.  The Poppy Inn is ocean front under the tent  with a great bar setup and the clubhouse is more formal with golf and ocean views.  I say you can't go wrong at either spot.
