Ceremony & Reception Site: Brewster, Harwich and Chatham

I just got engaged two weeks ago and am in the very early planning stages.

I've looked into Ocean's Edge, Chatham Bars Inn and Whychmere and have requested information, but I'm interested in some actual feedback from people who have either already had their wedding there or are having it there.

    Congratulations!
    I am getting married at Ocean's Edge next June and I have had nothing but great thing to say thus far. I am working with Ashley and she is great. We were looking for a place where we could have the reception, ceremony and guests stay all at the same place and this worked out perfect for us.
    When are you planning on getting married because their minimums are higher in the summer and they have 2 night minimums on the hotel rooms (because they are sold out most weekends).

    We got married at Chatham Bars Inn back in '08.  It was everything we had hoped for and then some.  The food was amazing, the coordinator we worked with was great, and you just can't beat the views.  Our friends & family are still talking about it!  Let me know if you have any specific questions. :)

    Thanks ladies!

    I've requested information from both and am looking to take tours of both sites over the Thanksgiving weekend, when I'm home visiting the family.

    Did both place provide you with a coordinator included in the price or was that extra.  Also how far in advance did you book?

    The coordinator at CBI was included in the price (and she was great - her name is Clarissa).  I booked in June '07 for our September '08 wedding, and even then most of the weekends were already taken.  Good luck and congrats! :)

    Hi there!
    I will be happy to give a review of the CBI in 2 weeks....I'm getting married there on Sept 12.
    WalkbytheH2O graciously shared a few of her photos with me when I was looking at places in Chatham - maybe you could see if she still has some she can forward? I was won over by the location - wow!
    Everyone has been really lovely to work with so far and the venue is top notch. My only complaint is in the past 11 months I've been passed through 4 different wedding planners at the resort which has just been an unnecessary added stress. I worked with Rick until he left, Clarissa until she went on mat leave, Angela until she went back to Corporate sales and now working with Kate. All were/are splendid to work with but its a bit stressful having to explain what you want 4 times.
    I'm pretty confident everything will come off without a hitch though!
