Honeymoon in your area!!

Hi Ladies! I am from Maine and (obviously!) new to this board. I turned to you because FI and I are trying to plan a honeymoon. Well, it's kind of a "mini-moon", we hope to take a big honeymoon a year after the wedding. But, we know we should get away somewhere! We came up with Cape Cod! We know very little about the area, except that it's relaxing. We are looking for a beach (even thought it will be September and chilly, we don't care - all we need is a sweatshirt, a beach chair and a cooler!). Anyway, my question is do you ladies have any suggestions as to what area you would think is best?! We are looking for relaxation as the number one priority. We want to be near/on the beach, and near some good food. All in all, that's about it ! Thanks in advance! (happy planning to you all!)

Chatham Bars Inn is the way to go if you can splurge a little - in September I would think that the prices would be a little cheaper, especially if you could do some week days instead of a Saturday night.  The Impudent Oyster is right down the road (CBI will shuttle you back and forth) and the food is great.  The Wequassett Inn is also near by, more expensive than CBI to stay there and extemely nice, if you can't afford to stay there they have great dining options.

Totally depends on your honeymoon. Im familiar with the Falmouth area. On the cheaper side there is Shoreway Acres, which is a cute little family run place. Mid range, Holiday Inn, its a chain, you get what you expect, good food, pool, and clean rooms. High end- Sea Crest, right on the Ocean.

I second Chatham! The Bars Inn is amazingly breathtaking! The Wequassett Inn in Chatham is also beautiful and might be a bit cheaper. The outer cape adds a whole other layer to "the cape". Falmouth is very nice if you haven't been to the cape before and affordable in the summer.

I second Falmouth! There is alot to do and you could always take the ferry to Marthas Vineyard for the day! The Holiday inn is nice or Seacrest is getting renivated this winter.  Good Luck!

I third Chatham, especially CBI - the inn is just gorgeous and the town itself is so beautiful and quaint.

I also loooove Nantucket.  If you don't mind a trip on the ferry, then I say it might be worth looking into.  It's a little pricey, but SO worth it! :)

If you want less expensive, no luxury condos, try Seamist in Mashpee.

Some of our guests chose to use them and said they were fine. Clean, good beds, not super luxury but clean fridge, kitchen, baths, etc.

It's a timeshare, I believe but sometimes they know well in advance what will be available.

for $$$ I would try the villas at Willowbend
