Registry Cookware

Does anyone have any advice on Stainless Steel cookware? I'm looking to register for a nice set but the reviews say that this type of metal is hard to clean . . . and advice on an alternative metal or a great way to clean stainless?
THANKS

Any Calphalon pots are going to be excellent to use, no matter the metal.  Just keep in mind that any good set of cookware, should be a hand wash item, which will make it all a little more difficult to clean.  My mom bought me calphalon hard-anodized cookware and it is amazingly easy to clean.  They just wipe clean!

We have Viking stainless and love it. Viking originally made high end kitchen appliances. So far no complaints!
