Wychmere Harbor

Any brides to be or recent brides...can you give me an estimate of how much it is per person for Wychmere harbor?

Wychmere was my dream location. So stunning. We made an appt and toured there, but sadly it was out of our price range (we have a modest budget). I'll see if I can find my paperwork..............

I looked there more than a year and a half ago now and I'm thinking it was around $170/pp??  There was a lot of if you want this add this price, if you want this add this price, and there was a hefty site fee in addition.  Beautiful beautiful place though.

I went a few weeks ago. They aren't doing a per person rate anymore. Starting with year, they are having instead a 50K minimum.

I heard that the Whychmere Harbor was sold to a large corporation recently.

I'm very surprised to hear that they now have a 50K minimum. The women e-mailed me back saying she could work with any budget. If you ask me 50 K is not any budget.

I actually recently toured belle mer in newport, and their company just purchases the Wychmere. The woman who toured us said she could show us Wychmere as well. Im assuming they have comparable prices, since they are both run by longwood event. They work differently then most other places and basically act as wedding planners. The minimum can be used for flowers, band, lighting, photographers etc as well as site fee and catering. The small building in newport for a Saturday night had a minimum of 38,000 with out taxes, but they work with other budgets during the day weddings.  Hopefully this helps.

This is the old Thompson's Clam Bar, right? Saw they were acquired by Longwood- should be interesting, but not cheap!

I'm getting married at Wychmere in two weeks... we fell in love the second we walked in and went back and forth because initially they told us their minimum was out of the question. Lyndsey worked with us and got our event minimum down to 20,000 for a Friday evening wedding... we weren't able to keep it this low with vendor prices on Cape Cod, but all in all they were very accomodating for us.

The venue was just completely renovated over the winter and is gorgeous - we can't wait, but it is a bit pricey!

I got married at Wychmere last summer and I can't say enough good things about it.  I know that their pricing structure has changed, as people have mentioned, so I can't comment on that too much.  However, I would definitely suggest giving them a call and going to take a look.  Karen Rood was our coordinator and she was amazing to work with.
