Favor ideas

What are you or did you do for favors? I originally wasn't going to do them at all, but now I am thinking I'd like some kind of local specialty-- like locally made jam or something. I'm curious what others have or will do!

I didn't do them.  Preferred to spend our money elsewhere...  and we included local goodies in our OOT gift bags.

my place cards will be in small picture frames which will be the favor. I got them on sale off theknot - 90 for $162 including shipping. It's only worth it when on sale, though.

Check out the Pink Polka Dot in Falmouth. They do awesome favors & OOT bags with local stuff. They also have the most adorable Cape Cod Bride & Cape Cod Bridesmaid t-shirts! Hope this helps!

Depending on your budget - you can get homemade pottery pieces, Cape Cod has some great potters. You can get nautical magnates, small candle holders, or pinch pots (you can use it for your rings while washing the dishes but it has many other uses). They can customize them for your colors and add your date. Many local shops are very helpful if you go in and talk to them about possible wedding favors, or so I've found. I'm on the edge - I can't decide if I want to do favors but if I do I want them to be practical.

this won't be much help - but we're doing chocolate covered fudge.  I agree with doing something local, because it's a nice touch - but since I'm originally from the east coast (as are many of the guests), we decided to do a little something from Michigan, where we live now.  Happens as such that our friends own a fudge company, and gave us a great deal.

I would say, though, that if you're going to do favors, do something edible, as it tends to give you a bang for your buck.  Many people take home non-edible favors, they sit on a counter somewhere, then get relocated to a drawer, then eventually tossed unless its something absolutely useful.  Nothing will annoy you more than spending good money on something, then seeing more than half of them sitting on tables at the end of the night because guests didnt take them.  Food items people will take!
