Spray Tan?

Feb in Canada isn't a month when one can get a lot of sun so I was thinking a spray tan may be a good way to give me a little more colour that time of year?

Is anyone else thinking of doing this? Or has anyone even had a spray tan before?

I have never had one and have no idea what to expect or if it's even a good idea.

Thanks ladies

Re: Spray Tan?

  • I was thinking of doing it. But, I've heard so many horror stories about it clumping in certain spots like your hands, ankles, elbows, knees, etc. Or some girls had turned a little more orange than expected.

I've been leaning more towards the old fashion way, using the beds. I'll probably start a few weeks in advance to build a gradual tan.

  • I did a spray tan for my sister's wedding last Aug. I just have that bad irish skin that is ALWAYS white and never tans lol. I can BURN then turn white after peeling. I've only ever been TAN once in my life, it was the summer i went to California and Mexico lol.

I was no happy at all with my spray tan. First off, it was my first time going and i went in underwear, no bra (i wouldnt have lines)... but of course had to wear a bra home which turned my bra ORANGE!!!! (fyi, it is STILL orange!)
Also, if you dont STRETCH  your neck out or similar, you WILL GET lines!!! I had lines on my neck and feet.

Honestly, i would do the tanning bed. You will not get cancer from tanning for 2 months or so. The summer i went to mexico and cali, i tanned via bed so the rays from those places wouldnt kill me. It worked a little lol. but i got super super tan.  I will likely tan a few weeks before my wedding.

  • I am a spray tanning pro. First of all, please please please practice a few times prior to doing it for your wedding so you see how it goes on.

The key to a good tan is exfoliating right before you go. Usually what I do is come home after work, shave my legs and take a body scrub to my entire body. I also wash my hair and put it up since I wont be showering for 24 hours after.

  • I did a test run for my wedding this past Feb so I knew how pale I'd be next Feb. The key is going to a person who does the spray tan instead of just a machine. They take the time and do all the different curves on your body, it looks real natural. Plus they put on special lotions on my hands and feet to prevent oranging or discoloration.
