Early Gift~ TY note help....

We sent out our invites about 2 weeks ago.....this weekend we got one back that was a "decline" but they also enclosed a check for us. My question is, do I send the TY not now, or after wedding.....I feel like I should now, but wanted to check with you ladies on the proper etiquette

I would send it now. I think it's better to send them as soon as you receive the gift.

Cash the check now and send the ty as well.

I would send it now..that was nice of them to at least send you a gift even if they could not come.

According to etiquette, thank yous for gifts received before the wedding should be sent within two weeks. You have a year to send thank yous for gifts received at or after the wedding.

I don't believe you have a year to send out thank you notes in this day and age. I'd send out one now for the gift you recieved and I'd send the ones after the wedding as soon as you can.  I got married on 2/12/11 and I had all of my thank you's out within 7 weeks.
