Struggling with colors...

I have been planning our wedding for a few months now and I'm feeling so overwhelmed about the colors.... Kind of like being back @ square one.  So I initially decided on navy blue and gray... I have ordered an awesome poster in these colors to be framed and signed in lieu of a guestbook... I just ordered our save the date cards that are brick red and cream... I couldn't resist!  Now I'm torn because I love red... I can't decide what colors I should go with!

Should I change from navy/gray to red and...???  Not sure what would look good together.  It's an outdoor summer wedding at The Penn House, which has a colonial feel to it.  My dress is stark white... What are some colors that compliment red?  I love the blue but feel that if I mix blue and red it will look like the 4th of July (FYI we're getting married only 5 days after the 4th of July)  Can anyone offer some advice?  Thanks!!

You always could do Navy and red with cream and gray accents. Honestly, go with whatever colors you like. The only issue you may have if you chose to use all the colors is the fact it will be red, white and blue (american flag:) I say go for what you love:)

I think you should think about it hard before orderin anything else. haha.

    I think either of these:
red & blue with accent color grey.
    or
red & grey with blue being your accent color.

it won't look 4th of july unless you have stars and stripes. plenty of ppl use blue & red and it doesn't look like a family cookout :P

also, go google those colors. Since i've started wedding planning, google has become a real good friend of mine. ha.
just type "red & blue weddings" or something to that nature.

You don't have to have "wedding colors" even though people will keep asking you what your colors are.

And even if you do choose colors, not everything has to match.

Keep in mind that when some people get a wedding invitation, they try not to wear the same color as the invitation because they don't want to match the bridesmaids.  But that's really the only place where color means something.

Picture two things: your tables, and your bridesmaids.  What color do you see those?  These are going to be the two places where people really notice your "colors"

I agree with others to pick what colors you want the most.  A blog that helped me when I was trying to decide and visual everything is The Perfect Palette (http://theperfectpalette.blogspot.com).  It has pictures of tons of weddings with different color schemes.

You definitely don't have to have set colors, although having two "main" colors will help you streamline your design. I LOVE Navy and cherry red, and grey accents would look awesome with it. You would have lots of flower options, linen options, etc.

Check over at Style Me Pretty (clicky) because I have seen several weddings with Navy/Cherry-Brick Red and they looked great!

    Good luck!
