Tornado missed us by a mile or two *crawls out from hiding space*

Chris's parents are still on their way down here. They were taking 95 out of DC, but we called and re-routed them down 85. Otherwise they'd be driving straight into it.

I was just coming to post a "How are y'all - check in from the storm" thread. 

We're alright.  My family is spread out across the state right now but we've all managed to miss it so far.  My dad's at the OBX, but so far he's fine too. 

Glad y'all are okay, Beka!  I was thinking about you today when I heard it was hitting hard in your area.

Oh I guess I should have read this one before I posted a thread... here in greenville I finally came out of the bathtub lol replaced the couch cushions and everything. I didn't see a funnel but they said a tornado touched down near South Central highschool.... too close to my apt for my comfort. So far no reports of fatalities here, but Bertie county was hit pretty badly as well as Wilson... everyone is in my prayers!

We're doing okay...we just got some heavy rain here.

I did talk to Meredith and she said that a tornado touched down in her parents cul de sac. Luckily, they're in Florida for a wedding and her neighbors said there house is okay, just lots of debree everywhere. Just keep her and her family and neighbors in your thoughts and prayers! It's so scary how close to home this hit!

Hope everyone is okay! I managed to stay ahead of the storms all day (had to drive to Raleigh for class, then Fayetteville for a baby shower, then to Wilmington to the future in-laws for a birthday get together) Can't believe how much damage was done and I hope everyone is safe and sound. Sending out prayers and good thoughts for you girls.

I was one of those crazy people trying to outrun the storms... FMIL is in Fuquay and invited me to wait out the storm at their house, since they have a basement and my apartment is full of huge windows. 

I drove in the rain down 55 through Holly Springs not even 5 whole minutes before the storm came through-- we went back up the road later when things cleared, and I couldn't believe my eyes! I'm just thankful that for once in my life, I wasn't running 5 minutes late for something! 

Tomorrow I'm headed to Sanford for work-- I'm interested to see how things are down in that direction (or if the office even has power!)
