We had the opposite problem. I have a cousin who is a Federal Judge who totally jumped for joy and offered to be our officiant. She is literally the sweetest person ever. I hadn't even worried for a second about not having an officiant. Well FORTUNATELY, after many years of trying (age factor), and adopting 2 beautiful boys, she was able become pregnant. (I'm still not over how excited I am for her). Well her baby was due around this time. She actually came 2 weeks ago. She is perfect, btw.
But anyway, when I went to visit her this past Christmas/New Years, she mentioned she wasn't sure she'd be able to come. I am bummed bc her and her husband are my fav cousins on my dad's side, but TOTALLY understand. I wouldn't want to travel with a newborn, myself!
The idea of an officiant totally slipped my mind! LOL. We had done some research here and there, but we found someone! He is amazing. We met with him yesterday and just love him. He has awesome reviews on Wedding Wire and is open on our date. SCORE & CHECK!
