DIY Bar Sign

So I finished this awhile back but figured I'd post pics. This is my bar sign. I'm not 100% satisfied with it.  The canvas I bought was a little small so I had to shorten the phrase from my inpiration picture, but FI actually helped me with the lettering which was kind of sweet and makes it a little bit more sentimental to me.

There is also one problem...this is what it looks like in the stand I bought for it originally

It kind of covers up some words :(

So i'm not sure what I'll end up doing but FI assures me we'll work it out lol

Re: DIY Bar Sign

  • I like it. Its cute. I see what you mean about the stand though. I think it will be fine.

  • The stand doesn't cover it up so much that you can't read it...just blurs it a little. Honestly, if I saw it at your wedding I would get it :) It looks fabulous!! Cute phrase, too.

  • its cute! i had the same issue with a sign i made for our DIY sign i made for the guest table-we used a similar table stand to what you have but the letters project out so the stand is actually resting on the bottom row of donnies name l

can you maybe attached something to the bottom so that it can rest on that piece instead?

  • I can see how the stand gets in the way, but it's still very clear as to what it's supposed to say. So, although the perfectionist in you doesn't agree, your guests will think it's fine. I really like the sign though, so if you just can't get over the issue, I think you should buy another stand. Don't get rid of the sign or re-do it, it looks great the way it is! :)

  • Maybe you could attach something to the back that is a little longer so that it rests on that instead of the sign if it bothers you. Maybe a piece of board painted black or something.

  • I agree with PPs...just add something to the bottom so it stands a little higher or get a different stand. Could you hang it somewhere? Don't change it, it looks awesome!

  • Your bar sign came out awesome!! One thing I've been looking for is an easel (wooden?)... I found really small ones at JoAnn's yesterday but I'm keeping my eye out for larger ones, or I might see if FI could make them.  This would help your problem, but honestly I think it looks great and NO ONE would care/ notice.

  • Thanks Ladies :) I was thinking of adding something to the bottom to. I just need to make sure that it still allows for the curly things to hold the sign....I'm sure I'll work it out. But yes between the stand and everything not being perfectly center the perfectionist in me is going crazy haha
