RSVP vent....

I am more of a lurker on here than a poster but I just had to vent somewhere...our rsvp date is Feb 10, wedding March 10th.. has anyone else had to field this question:..."are our kids invited"??  Um, are their names on the invite???? No?  Well then I guess they arent.  Not rocket science people!!! I've had to tell two guests so far who have had the nerve to ask me that...that, "because we have so many friends with kids we just couldnt afford to invite them all and all their children so we had to keep it to just adults, sorry"....these questions were texted to me...so I'm just waiting for the rsvp to come back "declined"...Oh well!!

Re: RSVP vent....

  • I've had one guest text and ask, and another RSVP'd with her name in the blank spot and the #3 on how many would be coming - she has 2 kids. Thankfully it is FI's friend so he is going to have to deal with it.
  • Luckily we have not had to deal with this.  Everyone with kids understands and is going to leave them home.

  • The other day my mom mentioned to me that we officially got our first children request!! Sad thing is they are great girls and I hate to turn THEM down but if we say yes to any, we'd have to say yes to all...

  • Unfortunately, people don't understand that if additional names are not on the invite, then additional guests are not invited. We've had to deal with this quite a bit. We've told over half of them no, but this was all people wanting to bring a random date or flavor of the week.

The newest one - a good guy friend texts me today and asks if he can bring another guy friend as his date. He's not gay by any means (although I'd totally be okay with it), he just wants to bring this other friend. I was friends with the guy in hs, but I haven't seen him in 6-7 years. I think he wants the free booze. I'm not even kidding. I obviously said NO.

  • Ugh. I have not run into this yet. *knock on wood* but my cousin who I thought was going to want to bring her kid RSVP'd for 2, thank goodness. It's an awkward situation, but I think most of my guests want to take the opportunity to have a kid-free day and relax as well.

  • I have had several people add their children into the # on rsvp along with people putting a 2 when I did not give a plus one. super frustrating. I dont thinkthese people understand we pay per person!!
