Bridal Mart Beware!

Be very careful at Bridal Mart they will nickel and dime you. Be prepared to search and pull your own dresses. It is not very well organized. When you finally pick a dress be prepared to wait in line and be forced to sign a contract saying your dress can come in any condition.

They make sure your dress is wrinkled and want you to pay $75 just to be steamed.

In alterations, you will not get hooks that match your dress. Beige stands out on white dresses. Plus alterations are over priced.

When you speak to management be prepared to be wrong. They are rude from the start. I paid a lot of money for my dress and don't expect to be treated like dirt.

The employees are not knowledgeable and can't answer any questions. They try to tempt you with prices a tad lower but honestly it's not worth it.

Stay away! You deserve to be treated better. I wish I  would have known this before hand so I don't have a wrinkled wedding dress at home Cry

I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience. I got my dress there and had zero problems (even though I went in on a Saturday). I gave them a list of the dresses that I wanted to try on and they got them all for me. My contract stated it would come in within 12-16 weeks and it came in at 15 weeks. It came in brand new, in a sealed bag, and perfect (Alfred Angelo). When I picked it up I didn't have any issues. I did not get alterations there because they tend to overcharge, but most bridal stores overcharge for that. I got paired with an employee who went above and beyond. She was great and made it a fantastic experience.

When I picked up my dress I came about 10 minutes until closing and they still let me try on my dress with all accessories and let me enjoy the time.

I've heard good and bad about Bridal Mart over the years. I went because my MOH went when she got married and she had a good experience. Hopefully you can take the dress to a dry cleaner to have it steamed or buy a steamer for yourself (my sister did this for her dress and it was great to have on the wedding day).

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I don't think it's out of the ordinary to have to get your dress steamed before the wedding, especially depending on the kind of fabric your dress is.

I also had a great experience at Bridal Mart. Their prices are lower than a boutique so you aren't going to get the same kind of hand holding there that you will at a more upscale place. The employees helped me when I needed it and stepped back at other times. I went mulitiple times to try on dresses there. Saturdays can be busy there but I knew that when I went. I already knew that it was the kind of place where you pull your own dresses. So I guess you just need to go with the right expectations.

The staff went out of their way to call and confirm the price of my dress and my bridesmaids dresses at another store so that they could price match it for me. All in all the price matching saved me $100 on my dress and my bridesmaids each got their dress for $25 less.

I'm sorry it was a bad experience for you! I also got my dress from bridal mart (went in on a Saturday)and had no problems. I had spoken to girls on here and read reviews that told me you will probably have to walk around and get your own dress, and honestly I liked that! It gave me a chance to see everything and make sure that I wasn't missing any good dresses :) The ladies in the dressing room were really nice and helpful while I was there. The dress itself came in a month before their estimated delivery date and wasn't wrinkled at all. Sorry that things didn't go as you wanted them too!

Total bummer, I am so sorry.

I had a wonderful experience but I read lots of reviews ahead of time so I knew what to expect. It definately is not the say yes to the dress experience and you have to be okay with that in exchange for a great deal.  I did go on a Monday and the lady I was working with was wonderful. She noticed what I liked and didn't like about the dresses I was pulling and then pulled one for me.  It was the one. They told me to expect the dress in about 4 months and it came in early after only two months. It does need to be steamed but I expected that it would be my responsiblity.

I hope the rest of your planning goes well!

It sounds like the biggest issues you had were with alterations -- so good to know they aren't so hot in the alterations department!  I don't know if I've read any reviews from people who have had alterations done there.  So sorry you had a bad experience with your alterations -- hopefully things will work out with the steaming.  But thanks for sharing, so that future brides will be forewarned that perhaps they should go somewhere else for alterations if they choose to shop at Bridalmart.

I bought my dress at Bridal Mart and did not have any issues with it.  I did take my gown elsewhere to be altered.  The phone number I received for alteration was for a lady in Liberty and I chose to take mine to BB's in Greensboro to be altered.  I had no problem either.  The dressing room area is not the greatest but always received good service.
