One of my BMs called me last night with some bad news. She's in the National Guard and found out she's being deployed. As of right now, she'd be leaving on March 15, but she's fighting to get it pushed back to April so she can still be in the wedding.

I've always known this was a possibility, but she and I were just talking a few weeks ago about how we were both so relieved she wasn't going to be deployed because we'd gotten so close and it hadn't happened.

She's got a meeting this weekend and will find out if she can get it delayed until April. Really need some good vibes this way, the wedding just won't be the same without her!

The military is famous for surprising you.
Sending good vibes your way and safe prayers for her deployment and return.

Worst case - you can still keep her as an honorary BM - Just put in your program she is deployed, and if you do a blessing I would make sure she is mentioned in it. I really hope she is able to be there for your wedding!!

This. and Aw.. :( My best guy friend (for over 15 years) is a GM and a Lieutenant in the Army and I'd be crushed if he couldn't make it. I'll be sending vibes your way!

Knottie vibes coming your way! Hopefully she will be able to get it pushed back or it will change. FI is in the Navy reserves and was called up - was supposed to leave in May but it was then changed to July. His squadron actually knew for a month before they even told him!
