HM Checks

So tonight my FI and bought our Valentines gifts to each other. We each bought an excursion for our HM cruise. I am so excited about them.

He bought the excursion to the Mayan Ruins, that was the one thing I really wanted to do while on the cruise. For use it will be a once in a life time chance to see them.

I bought the excursion for Belize, we will be doing a Rum Runner River tour. We will get to see the run factory and a tasting. We decided right after we booked the cruise that we wanted to do this one.

So we are finally getting everything for the HM in line and ready to go. We still have to decide on something for the other 2 stops, but we still have time.

Re: HM Checks

  • I love the idea of booking excursions as Valentine's Day presents!  We normally just go out to dinner for all special occasions since we rarely treat ourselves to it on every other normal day.... but since I'm trying to watch what I eat, I'm going to bring up this idea to FI :)  We're going to Hawaii (not on a cruise), but there are still lots of excursions to choose from!!

  • Fun!!!  I've always wanted to see the Mayan Ruins, very jealous of that excursion!!  The rum run sounds fun, too!

What are your other two ports?

My Dad and I just booked the zip line in Labadee... I can't wait for that!  That's the only pre-scheduled excursion we're doing, though.  We're boring when it comes to the ports and usually just hang around the ship.

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.

  • That's a really good idea! I just might have to steal this one. :)

  • Very nice!

FI told me that since he planned Valentine's Day last year, that it was my turn this year.  I just came up with the idea (while reading this thread!) of making him a really nice dinner and having it by candlelight at our house.  We got our silverware and four place settings for Christmas so I can use them for dinner.  Plus I'm off that day so I can try and make everything from scratch.

This will be so much fun!

Buying each other the excursions is a great idea, too - we've only bought two things for our trip so far other than the hotels and transportation, and that was tickets for a tour of Parliament and tickets to the top of the Eiffel Tower.  I cannot WAIT to do both!!!!
