Just completly happy over the awesome weekend we had! So proud of FI and his family bonding skills. haha.
Headed back to PA Wednesday and got to spend the evening with my brother(R) and his family. His kids are very shy and hard to warm up to people, but when we walked in, tons of hugs and kisses! They have been working on showing them our pictures, so they knew who we were. yay!
Got to my parents (two of my brothers and parents live within a mile of each other!) and my dad kept asking me to take our bags to my room. Chill out dude, just drove 9 hours I want to visit! Finally gave in... My parents totally redid my bedroom. It was so awesome. Kinda bummed I dont have that room in my house haha. They had the carpet delievered and installed that morning! Perfect timing!
Had an awesome Thanksgiving that was just all around pleasant. with 12 people at my parents, sometimes tension can run high, but went of without a hitch! Everyone but one nephew went home(he is 15) and he and FI played video games. They are like BFF's Its gross. haha
My mom SIL and myself headed out around 10p to do our Black Friday shopping and FI went with nephew to my brother (B) to watch football while we shopped. Total family bonding time for FI! He loves my brother and his kids so its super nice! We got ours shopping done, we just go for tradition mostly. No big items ha.
Friday afternoon FI where laying on the couch watching TV when my other Brother (R) came over to pick FI up to go on a tour of where we are from. FI and I have been together 4 years, and go home 2-3x a year. We just never plan a scenic tour. FI LOVED it! I guess it was something they discuss during Thanksgiving, and it gave me 2 hours to relax! haha.
Friday night my parents and I went to dinner and to the casino. No big wins, but its the only thing FI wants to do when we go visit. happy FI happy me!
Saturday we had plans to go to lunch with brother (B) and SIL at 1115. B is my "man of honor" and they kept saying that he wanted to go to lunch and just talk wedding. Plus my mom had to work, so it worked out well. So we go to his house, and walk into his man cave where he always is, and there stood my family and friends yelling surprise! AHHH! So unexpected.(for me, FI knew of course!) So awesome. It was awesome because everyone I talked to had gone out of town and went as far as posting on their FB that they were away where there! My mom had a breakfast buffet for everyone and my sister is a pinterest stalker and decorated everything perfect. Burlap, mason jars, and laterns are our decor and she tied it all together! SIL made burlap stockings as favors for everyone, tying in christmas with it. Of course we got awesome gifts, but the time was priceless. My grandma was a bitch when she saw who was invited and cornered my mom asking my cousins on their side where not invited...Um, because we are not close. I dont know any of them, I havent seen them in over 5 years and even then, its only on Christmas Eve! The cousins that where there... I see them everytime Im home. Some where even there when FI proposed! I know the reasons why! She even complained there was no booze at the shower. Hello, its 11AM! IN THE MORNING! whatever she will not ruin my perfect day image!
Later that night we planned on going out to dinner with my friends. Meeting at my brothers(B) house to head out, surprised by everyone was already there! Another great surpise get together and everyone had such a blast.
Wrapped up the weekend with hanging out with my parents and brother (R) having us in for lunch, ordering from my favorite pizza shop. Headed back south after lunch, and made it back before midnight.
I felt so blessed and surprised by everythig this weekend. It was the first time I was home since being engaged and everyone is so excited! Im amazed by the amount of people who are trying to come to the wedding! Its a 7-9 hour drive, and expensive to fly thanks to no direct flights, and everyone knows this. I just cant believe the amount of interest in coming. All my brother got married in the south, and it looks like I'll have about 3 times the attendence from family then they did. Crazy. but soooo happy about it!
