March 2012 Weddings

Timeline

I worked out a tentative timeline today for the wedding day. Ugh it was miserable. And it is so hard to comprehend that an event that doesn't occur until 5:30 at night has to start at 8:00 am!!  It overwhelms me just looking at it! haha

Re: Timeline

  • I did this today, too! Man it took a lot of thought! I hope I've alotted enough time for everything.
  • I agree!  Care to share?

  • I worked on mine yesterday... it was super stressful.  Our ceremony is also at 5:30, but I don't have anything starting until 11am unless you count the "breakfast with mom and dad" that I added in for the morning :)
  • I wanted to quote amber, but TK is acting wierd. But yes, care to share? :) Our ceremony starts at 6:00 pm so if you don't mind, it would be a really good guide :D
  • I have to do this soon.

Try having a 10:30AM ceremony and trying to figure out what time you need to wake up at.  That's the one thing I'm not looking forward to!

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.

  • For anyone who hasn't done theirs yet, I highly suggest asking your photographer for a timeline. Mine gave me an awesome one that really helped me get everything down.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • Ours starts at 6pm, and I think I have it almost down.  What makes it complicated is all of the vendors have been booked for different amounts of time, and we can't even get access to the venue until 3:30pm.

We're going to a salon for our hair, and I was able to get everyone in at the same time since I booked months ago.  That has been a real blessing.

  • I feel your pain - we are going to have to start hair t 10:00 a.m. - which means I will have to be showered and go pick up 2 people at the hotel and back by then.  bleh!  FI may be going to pick them up for me.
  • I haven't even thought about. I just hate dealing with the little things like that. I know I need to get on it but I just keep puttin it off.

Oh gosh, this is crazy! I have to think about my timeline soon. I have no idea when to tell people what time to come to the venue. My ceremony starts at 6:30. What kinds of things do you have on your timeline?

  • I've made a tentative one, but things are always changing. I think I'll wait to do this final step after everything is dead set in stone. I don't think it will take long, it's just not my priority when things can change. For example, we're no longer doing chair covers for the ceremony, so we don't have to show up quite as early for set up. One girl dropped out of makeup and another wants hair now too. My photographer wants me at the venue first to take individual bridal portraits. We are allowed to get a 4:00 checkout from the hotel after all (we're getting ready there before heading to the venue). Small things that really aren't that big of a deal, but I think I'll do this like the week before the wedding so I don't have to deal with anymore changes! lol

  • I came on here to comment but honestly all I saw was Britt's countdown and that freaks me out that somebody in our month has that small of a count down. I need it to scroll back up to like 2.5 months, please. Oh sh!t.

  • Wow Amber that is a really long time - my girl said she would only need 30 mins for hair and 15-20 for makeup.  It took about 45 ish minutes for my hair and make up trial.

I know it is, but I have pretty long thick hair so I know my hair usually takes an hour to get an updo .... and the makeup is airbrushed so i'm not sure if that takes longer than normal makeup to do?    I guess i'd rather plan for longer and have extra time than to not have enough time and be running around...  oh well I'll just have to start the day of with a couple of mimosas :)
