Speaking of hotels

I hate mine. The rooms are awesome, the price is right, but the service is TERRIBLE. They didn't tell us when our room block filled up, so they ended up filling up the hotel and some of our guests have to stay somewhere else. All of this I find out through our guests, NOT by having the hotel call me to give me a heads up.

Then last night I find out that they cancelled the reservation for one of my guests. Just cancelled it. Didn't call him to tell him they'd cancelled it. So he would have shown up and had no room. I'm going to go ballistic on them today. And then I'm going to go ballistic on the place we ordered our BM dresses from since they still have not given me an arrival date yet!!!

I have been pretty zen through this whole process but other people's incompetencies are really driving me nuts right now.

Re: Speaking of hotels

  • WOW, that's bad  business!  I would totally be going off, calling the better business bureau and reporting their bad business!  As for the bridesmaids dresses, I would totally be going off as well.  You get em girl!
  • I just called mine this morning to get an update on the rooms booked etc...I hope I don't have any issues. Sorry that happened!  When you call them, I would def complain and try and get some free rooms out of it!

  • This is one area that I was having trouble with in the beginning - mostly after hours, but as soon as I spoke to my contact everything was cleared up. He even extended my block a week when we had a few procrastinators. I had a issue on Monday where someone accidentally cancelled my aun'ts reservation (craziness from Mardi Gras most likely), but he reinstated it right away thank God.

I'm sorry you're going through this! I hope it gets better!!

  • That stinks Tiger - sorry to hear about that. Hopefully it all works out for you... my hotel had our shuttle all messed up and they would not extend our block of time for reservations, so I had a few people that missed out on the discounted rate. But luckily they were at least still able to get a room. And I think I have the shuttle thing figured out... I'm just glad I have the email to the sales manager that I was working with. Otherwise, I would probably be totally screwed!

<div>Yeah, that's what happened to us yesterday. Luckily he reinstated it in about 30 seconds, so it turned out not to be that big a deal, but it's been nothing but problems with them. They are seriously the biggest source of stress in my life!</div>

That's good news at least! - I wish we had some sort of shuttle. We had to pay for a limo bus...$300 each way..

<div>Oh, we're paying for the shuttle. It's about $270 each way - 3 hours before the ceremony and 3 hours after the reception.</div>

  • Our shuttle is included with the rooms (if we had enough nights booked) but I found out this weekend that it will only make one trip from the reception to the hotel, so if anyone wants to leave early and they're on the shuttle they're SOL.  It's about half an hour drive from the reception to the hotel, so I understand why, I just wish they had told me that when I reserved it in June.  They also originally wanted to pick up guests at 3, when my ceremony is 20 minutes away and doesn't start until 4:30.  WTF was I going to do with the guests until then???  They changed it to 3:30, which I still think is too early but there will be music at least starting a little after 4.

The contact I had has left the company, and the new person seems to be good but it annoyed me that apparently no one is reading the old person's e-mails.  It took me e-mailing twice and finally calling to find out what was going on.  I've gotten a list of people that have booked rooms, and there's a few that are coming that haven't gotten a room yet and I don't know if they're staying elsewhere or what.  And one of my bridesmaids, I don't know what she's doing.  She hasn't reserved a room and I don't even know how she's getting out to the hotel on Saturday, hopefully with one of the other bridesmaids (she doesn't have a car).

This makes me feel better! Our location is literally a mile & a half away so they are letting us have 2 trips each way...
