I realized something this morning... over the course of about two weeks FI's dog has trained him. Yes, that's right. The dog has trained the FI. Haha!
Remember that scene from The Office where Jim clicker trains Dwight? It's kind of like that.
FI's dog, Whiskey, will start walking around the room at about 5AM every morning because he wants to go outside and he's learned that if he walks around it annoys FI enough and he'll let him outside (we have a sliding glass door in the bedroom that leads out to the back yard). Then, he's learned that if he howls, FI will let him back in. It started happening maybe once every couple of nights, but for the past 3-4 nights Whiskey has done it not once, but TWICE every night. And FI obediantly gets up, lets him out and then about 20 minutes later will get up and let him back in. I keep telling him to just leave the dog out there, he'll stop howling eventually, but he won't do it.
I just find it really amusing because I can tell that Whiskey did it on purpose! He's a smart dog and likes to get his way. During the summer we sleep with the door open so the dogs come and go as they please and Whiskey HATES not having an open door anymore and has manipulated FI into giving him a virtual open door whenever he wants it.

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.
