Bridal Show thoughts?

Did anyone else go to the bridal show this weekend?

My mom and I went yesterday and I didn't find as much stuff as I thought I would. FI and I still have a lot to do, but we do have our venues and photographer, and I feel like that's all they had there! That and DJs! Tons and tons of DJs, which isn't helpful for us either, since we've decided to go with a band.

But...good news is that the florist that I want to have sooo bad and was originally booked for our date might be opening back up because the bride might have to move her date! That would be just amazing since he can't do both our weddings on the same day because hers is out of town.

I went to one in Charlotte last year, and same thing about the DJs! In fact, I was with a girlfriend looking for a DJ, and when I told the guy that I had already booked mine, he got a little fiesty with me!

I hope you got to eat lots of yummy food and cake samples though- that was the best part for me! :)

I went and I kept saying that all they had were photographers! 

I went to the one back in April with my sister who was getting married at the time and that one was much better.  Several vendors told me that bc it was New Years that a lot of vendors are waiting til the April show to participate.

I went to the one last year and thought it was helpful. It was the weekend I got engaged and I was hunting for a planner and there were several there.  I looked at the list of vendors for this years event and noticed that there were a lot of dj's, which I still need, but not much in the way of invitations, which was my primary interest in going--so, I opted out.  Definitely not as wide a variety this year, but there are some more shows coming up that could be helpful.  I'd just scope out the vendor list before going.  The one at the Carolina Inn last year was very nice and had a lot of good vendors. I think it was in February.

I went and I was not impressed!  About 5 years ago I went to one in Greenville and it was sooo much better than this one.  I was through the whole thing in little over an hour. I went to find more ideas but left with none.

Having been in that building before (for a dog show), I was kind of disappointed with how closely packed together the vendors were. There was plenty of space to expand the aisles and the seating near the stage!

Besides that, there were a lot of DJ's there, and a lot of photographers - though the work of some of the photographers was kind of lackluster. As I still have to find a venue and decide on a date, I'll probably go to the one in April too.
